What's Everyone Doing for Valentine's Day?

Just curious what all the newlyweds and soon-to-be newlyweds have planned for tomorrow?

We don't eat out much and DH said he'd take me anywhere I wanted, since we haven't had sushi in a long time, that's what I suggested. So, we're going to a sushi place on the beach. Only thing, they don't take reservations, so it could be a long night! DH has sent me tulips - my favorite flower - every Valentine's Day since we've been together so I'll be looking for those tomorrow too. I got him a romantic card and a gift card to his favorite smoothie place.

I'm going to wake up super-early and cook him his favorite breakfast. He leaves by 6:15 am so that will not be fun! Then we're meeting for a spinning class at 5:30, I know some of you probably think we're crazy Then he's cooking me something for dinner and I am baking him this incredible dessert. It's a pastry baked w/ dark choc on the inside and I'll cover it w/ ganache.... mmmm. I saw it on the food network last week, and I just have to make it. I just bought him boxers with hearts on them b/c I do that every Valentine's Day, so now he has 6 pairs! Then Saturday night, we're going out to this really nice restaurant that we can't really afford, but oh well

We're pretty much laying low. We may be under a foot of snow tomorrow night, so it works out perfect. I'm thinking a good movie, some popcorn and candy will make for a good at-home date!

We’re going to White Castle! For Valentine’s Day they have table service that you need reservations for. All of the White Castle’s in Manhattan and Brooklyn have been booked for weeks. Seriously. We did it last year too and brought super classy twist off bottles of champagne with those plastic champagne glasses to match. Ahh the kitschy things I’ll miss about living in Brooklyn….

Since our funds are practically non-existent, and I have to work... and we might have 5-10 inches... we will probably be hanging out at home. We used to celebrate at home when were younger... we didn't have much money then either. Funny how things don't change too much. Anyway, we used to make each other grilled cheese and sparkling cider. So, that's probably what we'll have. I have to go to the store and buy some sparkling cider... there shouldn't be a rush on that in a snow storm...

DH is out of town for training, so I will be at home with the dog...lol

No gifts. Well, I bought him a new cell phone...I told him that was his v-day present and he said "we don't celebrate that" lol. what a dork. Anyway, he usually sends me flowers, but I won't hold my breath over that, just in case one day he decides to stop doing it...I wouldn't want to be disappointed! lol

it's not that big a deal to me...I get a lot of things throughout the year...

We are so lame...I don't think we'll even see each other. He goes to law school pretty much all day, and I go to grad school at night. We don't live together, so we probably wont' see each other until Saturday night. Maybe we'll catch dinner then.

My husband is going to make me a spaghetti dinner...my favorite! I'd rather stay at home than go out. Oh...and my husband's gift for me is in a little blue bag that says "Tiffany" on it.... ....hmmmm....should I peek?

My fiance called me this morning to let me know he just made a reservation at Spoodles for Valentines Day. It's probably my favorite restaurant at Disney...food wise anyway. So I'm happy! But he couldn't get anything for before 9pm so it'll be a looong night tomorrow.

me and DH are probably gonna go out to dinner (he won't say where, just that I "shouldn't make any plans" for dinner...hahha...my usual "plans" are soup and sandwich or leftovers so that shouldn't be a problem!!)

And for dessert, I made some chocolate-covered pretzels and strawberries

Well I am cooking a 3 course meal at home. I love to cook

For appetizer we are having Gruyere and Carmelised Onion Filo Tart.
For entree we are having Braised Beef with black truffles in a dark chocolate sauce with garlic dauphinoise potatoes and parsnips.
Side dishes are Caesar Parmeggiano Broccoli and Asparagus Spears
Baby Corn
Dessert is Plum and Almond Tart with Mulled Wine sauce
Cheesecake Brownie

We are also having Champagne and Chocolates.

I am so into it, I even set up the table with candles and confetti and even print out a menu as he hasn't a clue what we are having. I'm working today so we prob won't eat until 20.00.
