Oh wow, what makes our May 2-10 trip so special is that our 3 kids (ages 5, 7 and 8) don't know! We even paid $200 extra in plane fares to take a flight that enables us to send the older two to school for 45 minutes before pulling them out. We're going to tell them that something has come up and we need to get to Arizona to see Papa & Nana.
Our plan is to plug them in to ipods when we get to the airport and try and keep them distracted as long as possible. The perfect scenerio would be to get all the way to the Orlando airport before they catch on.
We're going to make a little movie with pictures from our last trip(2005). At the end of that trip the kids each had a balloon which couldn't go back to the airport with us so my DH took them to the playground and told them that they were wish balloons and each of the kids made a wish on their balloons ("We want to come back") and then released the balloons to go back to Mickey so that he could hear their wishes. The end of our little movie will announce that their wishes were granted. We're going to put this movie on our iphones so that when the kids start to catch on we can play the movie to make the big announcement.
Now you have to realize that my kids have the mom who still peaks at her christmas presents if she can find them, lol. Keeping this secret is killing me!!!
I swear that my kids are psychic (or psychotic depending on the day). All we seem to see these days are commercials for the year of a million dreams and they keep asking when we can go back to WDW. So far they've believed us when we tell them it's really expensive to go so we'll have to save for a couple of years to make the trip.
Anyone have a mouth gag I can borrow?
