What's a ressie?

One of my pet peeves. Along with newbie. ;)

One of the first threads I read was "What is a ressie ?" And this is what I remember: It's a little blue pill......

i don't understand why "ressie" is an annoying term for reservation. all over these boards, and for that matter any message board, there are crazy abreviations that are hard to understand. at least when i read ressie i can figure out what it means. most other abreviations i need to refer to a chart to figure out what someone is talking about. i do agree that "newbie" is annoying though.

Ressie I understand, as well as newbie and other non-board specific abbreviations. What gets to me is the abbreviations for the different resorts, WDW attractions and everything else those of us who live out of state might not encounter frequently. Thank goodness someone usually explains them somewhere in the tread. Tonight's challenge was COP  It took 5 minutes to find the Carousel of Progress reference :p If you are a Magic player, those letters refer to Circle of Protection, so I agree, abbreviations can be confusing at times. BTW, the abbreviation for abbreviation is ????????

It's the "ie" that gets me. I used to be called Debbie, until I saw a Bob Newhard show where they had a temporary secretary while Carol was on vacation. The secretary was Debbie, and she was 85 years old. Right then, I became Deb.

So any of those "ie" words, grate on me a bit. Just my own personal quirk. Nobody buys "tickies" do they?

Nope, but, without one you won't get your laundry. ;)
