What's a good "theme" meal for teen boys?

I'm thinking of taking my 17 yo DS and his friend to 50's Prime Time Cafe. My DS has never been to that restaurant and this would be his friend's 1st visit to WDW. Do you think teen boys would enjoy this experience? Any other suggestions for a fun restaurant for them?

If they are sports buffs. The ESPN Club at Boardwalk is great. Me DS really enjoyed it.

They may like the Sci Fi for the campy movies. ESPN is a hit with my DS.

I dont' know if teen boys would be into 50's Prime Time Cafe. Years back when my brother was a teen and we went, he was not into it at all. DH also could not stand the place when we went on our honeymoon. He was 22, so only five years older than 17. Now eight years later and he still won't go there. But he'll go to character meals no problem, especially now that we have DD.

I don't have alot of suggestions, but make sure you hit Disney Quest! They'll probably really like that and there are lots of great eating places in DTD!

I agree with ESPN for the theming. I think I might avoid Primetime unless the boys are very outgoing. I think boys that age could be easily embarrassed. My sons, now 22 and 20, actually enjoy the theming at lots of WDW restaurants ...including the castle. :D

Yeah---nix the 50's Prime Time--without a doubt. I KNOW my son would HATE it and he is almost 18.
ESPN is a good choice, as is Planet Hollywood.
Why not try the Sci-Fi Drive-In? Very cool, retro feel with burgers and fries and funny B-movie trailers shown on a large screen in the "perpetually dark night" of a drive-in theatre.
Mexico's San Angel Inn is also an interesting place to grab a bite. Kids today all love natchos, and the strolling mariache band adds to the "laid-on thick" atmosphere of a festive Mexican evening.
Hope this helps!!--Wilma:wave:

ESPN Club is great, so is Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, etc. It's best to stick with those kinds of places for a teenage guy. Well, unless he has more gourmet tastes, some of my favorites are the CA Grill, Fulton's, and Narcossees.

My DS loved Donalds breakfastosarus, Prime time cafe, and Biergarten. In fact he just wrote an essay on his 3 favorite Restaurants and Biergarten was one that he wrote about.
He also loves Rainforrest Cafe and Fulton's

My son will be 21 on NYE at Disneyworld and has always chosen Sci Fi diner as his themed meal of choice. He also likes ESPN, and hasn't waivered in years. He also likes the Italian restaurants(all of them, Tony's, Alfredo's, whatever) On his 16th birthday the waiter at Sci Fi had him stand on his chair while the whole restaurant sang to him! He still talked to us later!

During our last visit Dh and myself took DD (25) and DS (15) to Prime Time. DS absolutely loved it because he saw us being "picked on" by our waitress. He also watched his sister attempt to "dig herself out of an interesting conversation" that the waitress had spurred on. Actually, DS is shy and the waitress evidently sensed this and frankly made a point of being extra nice to him. It didn't hurt that the waitress was very cute and quick-witted. I think he was "in love" by dessert!!

I asked my 2 DS's what were their favorite meals at Disneyworld. The 13 year old said Pizza Planet at MGM. The 16 year old said that the Crystal Palace has the best food (lunch) and the Sci-Fi has good atmosphere. They did not like the Prime Time Cafe - they aren't into that kind of joking, and our server just kept on and on...made it very uncomfortable ( this was several years ago.) However, lots of teens like it, so it depends on their personalities.

I think it would depend on the boys personalities as to whether they'd like PT Cafe or not... my son, who's only 12, and his friend that we took on a WDW trip last year loved it! But .. they're both sort of .. show offs! LOL and fancy themselves as comedians, so they "got into" the whole thing. Another suggestion that they might balk at at first, but end up enjoying <g> is CRT! Pretty princesses, who would definitely make a big deal over the boys ... ;)

Oh, I think that some teen boys would LOVE Primetime. Ask for Amanda... she is a hoot!
