What's a good rate for the MCO Hyatt?

I was going to book a night pre cruise at the MCO Hyatt and it said it was $270 a night? Seems steep?! Thoughts on staying there? Our other alternative is to stay at a Disney world resort 1-2 nights pre-cruise.

Depending on the time of year, it is probably going to be cheaper to stay at a value hotel on property than at the Hyatt, and since the Magical Express is free from MCO to the hotel, I'd be hesitant to pay that much to stay at the Hyatt.

It does depend on the time of year and how busy they are. Check different travel sites as they may have different rates and some offer special coupons. One stay I had received an offer through Travelocity for $50 off a hotel reservation made through their mobile app. The Hyatt was currently listed at $190 so I got it for $140. If you sign up for Hyatt's loyalty program, they sometimes offer special discounts to members when you book direct with them. Also, I have the Chase Freedom card and have found the Hyatt at better rates through the Freedom Ultimate Rewards site.

For the night before a cruise, I don't mind paying a little extra for the convenience of staying there. Check around and see what rates you can get at other nearby hotels then decide if the difference in price is worth extra hassle.

Keep checking the Hyatt site. I've been watching for March 19, 2017 and I've seen $217 (right now) to $271 to $289 for that night. If you stay 2 nights, the price changes again. But I check their prices daily and some have changed a few times in a month and others never change. That's without even looking at rewards or other resell sites.

Yes, you might be able to stay at Pop for cheaper, maybe even a moderate, but it depends on what you're looking for. If you have an early morning flight, you might get a better sleep staying at the airport for a few extra bucks than sitting on a shuttle. But if it's to go to the ship, then maybe a night at WDW would be refreshing for you and worth the transfer.

We've stayed at the Hyatt twice (I think for around $250), usually because we're flying in late. This year, I got a better deal at Port Orleans Riverside for that one night and we're flying in earlier. Planning on taking the boat over to Disney Springs in the evening and doing some shopping before the trip!

We just booked two rooms at $141 per room and we are staying there Sept 2nd for our Sept 3rd cruise.

What date were you looking at? Also, how many in the room?

I have it booked, 2 rooms and booked about a year in advance...I checked it every single day to see if our dates had opened...for $161 a night. I'm happy with that rate. We are flying in Friday at 4pm and with 2 little guys, I was going to grab dinner and then let them swim.

We are travelling for february 2017 school vacation - the price has been steadily 250-275. Someone I work with suggested trivago - and I got it for 179!

That does seem a bit steep. If you can get a slightly better deal than I would go for it. The restaurant at the hotel is very very good! I am a foody and thought my meal was great. The rooms at the hyatt are pretty large and are comfortable. My only complaints are sometimes the halls smell like jet (not too bad) and the rooms are not very sound cancelling.

I just booked the Hyatt MCO through Disney Cruise Lines two days ago, it cost me $225. One thing I like about booking it through DCL is because I can pay for everything (cruise, ground transfer, and hotel) through them and even pay using Disney gift cards if I want. Another reason I like using DCL is because last year, when our flight got in and I went to check in, they said, we don't have you down for a room. I was able to show them my documents that Disney sent us and it showed that I had a reservation in the booklet and there was NO questions asked. They handed me my paperwork, key and the form to fill out to have my luggage picked up to go to the ground transfer the next morning.

We did it this way as well-booked through Disney. It was a last minute three night cruise. Hassle free. Might have got a bit better rate if I did the search, but a few $ was worth it to us.

We love the convenience of Hyatt MCO for the night before a cruise, but IMO $270 isn't worth it for a bed for a night - there are plenty of very nice, much less expensive options for hotels within a few miles of MCO with free transport from/to the airport the next morning if you're taking the DCL bus to port. Many even include a hot breakfast, which could also save you over eating at the Hyatt or airport in the a.m. My husband and I are staying over one night in early December before our quick 3 night cruise and decided to fly in early the day before and use DVC points for one night rather than spend more than $250 at the Hyatt, which was the best rate we could find. If you can get a better rate at Hyatt with some of the great tips above, it's probably worth it to stay there. If not and if you have the time, maybe it's worth looking for a better price at a WDW resort for the night. To me it's a great way to get the Disney vibe going before your cruise!

We're paying $179 for one night for a King bed room in late November which I thought was a pretty good price.

I was able to get a 10% discount by booking through Costco travel. It was the best deal I could find and saved us $20. We're arriving at 10pm the night before and taking DCL transfers to the port so the convenience is definitely a factor for us.

I booked Hyatt MCO for our cruise next month. I got good a price because I am a Hyatt Gold Passport Member. Membership is free. However, I would also advise that you check the prices closer to your stay. I went online yesterday and noticed that my room price decreased so I was able to rebook at the lower price and saved $26. Not much but it adds up.

Thanks everyone! I'll keep an eye out for it. We are also considering going to Port Canaveral the night before. We'll see!
