Whatever you do, don't carry a bag to Universal Studios!

From Universal Website.

All day lockers are available inside the Main Entrance of each of our theme parks for a rental fee of $8.00 per day, with family size lockers available at Universal Studios Florida for $10.00 per day. Guests have unlimited access to these lockers during the course of the day.

Do you know if the family lockers use a regular key or a keypad code for access? I can't find this info on the website.

I can't remember but will ask my friends that have used the family locker as they use them regularly

heard back it is the biometric system.

thumb print and memorize your locker number

Just out of a curiosity.... Would they make you take off an apple watch / watch of any kind? Could be my alternative to carrying my phone and I could get in bage free and still keep in touch with my mom lol Thanks for nay replies. I feel like a watch shouldn't be a problem but hey you never know..

you had me laughing when you posted that.

in 2007 i was at hhn and didn't call her to check in and let her know all was good.

she called the orlando police and said i was missing.
long story, big mess, ugh.

my advice is to call MOM daily.
See this is what would happen if I took a solo trip. Only they'd flip if I didn't answer every text and probably make me FaceTime to prove I'm not abducted.

In other news I've never had a problem with uni lockers. Always used them and love them... Except the dragon ones. And except when they give me a high up locker... Can't reach those. I take the time limit as a challange to see how many times I can ride the ride before time is up.

So they don't make you take off Apple Watch for DC, RrR, and hulk?

Of course not. It's a watch.

They also let you wear a lanyard. They know you have to have some place to put your express pass and park ticket. Just tuck it in your shirt.

Oh yeah I know the lanyard. They've also never said anything to me about my glasses. I just didn't know if the Apple Watch had too much metal compared to a regular.... I guess that's silly now that I think about it. Ive always had leather watches by I suppose most people have metal.

Cannot STAND using the lockers. Last May, the RotM lockers were a much better experience for us than the Dragon Challenge lockers though. I remember a guy getting yelled at while going through the metal detector that he needed to get rid of a pack of gum in his back pocket or go put it in a locker. I know they have good reasoning behind all of this, but it's such a mess that I wish they would do something about the lack of space around the lockers and the fact that they hardly ever work.

Never had a problem with lockers working when we have had to use them, always work for us and have had no issues with them.......

people can't exactly miss the warnings that they should have nothing in their pockets.......I feel for TM's who have to deal with folk who think they're exempt from the rules for everyone.

Part of the problem is instead of just one or two people putting stuff in lockers, you get whole families cramming around one area........times at least 10 families

We had one family give in to a squawking kid who demanded they use her finger for the lockers......she couldn't do it........little snowflake wouldn't give up. But took up loads of time and space..........I think people are more the problem than the lockers.

I used the lockers a couple of times and never had any real issue. My biggest problem is the finger scanner. I can never get them to work right for me. I have had more issues actually getting into the parks with the dang finger scanning system. Must be I have no good readable fingerprints!

Anyway the worse lockers are in the Forbidden Journey ride. They do need to rethink that!

A far as the watch. I would not think that would be an issue but at another park I went to ride one the more intense coasters and they made me remove my earrings! Safety first always!

That's how I felt, but I just figured I'd ask rather than assume because you can't spell assume without... :D I was just thinking stranger things had happened lol

It could but who would wear outer jacket, vest etc in warm weather?

We are going in December and the weather has been light jackets and hoody weather.

You could wear that...but if you ant to go on the "wilder" rides, you would still need a locker & empty all pockets. Same as cargo pants/shorts.

Yeah, that's usually the issue for me too. I think it's just because of all the sweat and dirt from everyone stays on the scanner and so it doesn't actually get a good read of your fingerprint. So we try to wipe it down before scanning our fingerprint so that it's easier for the scanner to read!

And it's best to not let the smaller fingers do it, because it just doesn't take up enough space on the scanner. DS isn't a squawking kid demanding anything, but he wanted to and we saw no problems with it. He did it, and then it wouldn't open when we got back. That's when we found out that smaller fingers tend to cause problems.

Has anyone use the Scottevest? It holds everything in zipped pockets inside. Just wondering. http://www.ebags.com/landingpages/scottevest

So now you're putting all your stuff ON your body, and squishing in under the restraints on the relatively few rides that require lockers? No thank you. DH has 3 of their hoodies and I haven't seen many of the pockets that are actually zippered. Most on his hoodies are just dropin pockets.

Send one person in your party to the further back locker, follow the instructions and it shouldn't take that long at all.

If your hands are a little dry, sometimes that can make it hard for the scanners to read your prints. Try rubbing your finger in your palm (or even better, behind your ear...but some people find that icky) before you put your finger on the scanner. I worked at a DMV for several years and we had to use a similar scanner when issuing driver licenses. This trick worked 99% of the time.

Yes, wasn't a youngish pre teen, it was a kid of around 3 or maybe 4..........dad had to lift her up, hold her while she was still wriggling around.........and I swear her hands were covered in ice cream and chocolate too!! Took them ages.........

But, yes usually one adult at lockers should be enough. Would lessen the crowd in there dramatically........
