Does anyone remember at MGM they used to have sets you could walk on. They had the ToolTime set and an audience member was Tim Allen. Then you could walk past some of the set stuff from 101 Dalmations, etc.
Why did they ever get rid of this attraction? In my opinion MGM is "missing" something, and I think it's something like this.
Anyone else?

That was "Backstage Pass". It's been closed since they opened the "One Man's Dream" exhibit for the 100 Years of Magic Celebration. I havn't heard if there are any plans to reopen the Backstage Pass tour, which is a shame. I thought it was cool to see all the movie and TV sets and watch shows being filmed at the soundstages.

I agree, I miss the Backstage Pass as well! It was one of our favorites! :)

You would think a place that calls itself "Studios" would have a few of them, wouldn't you?;)

I felt the same way about MGM when we were there. We did the BackLot Tour, and Indiana Jones, but I had this feeling, there really was no studio there.

My daughter watches Disney channel constantly, and I came to the conclusion, nothing is filmed there.

At Universal, at least they let you go into the Nickelodeon Studios.

I think Walt's One Man's Dream is very good. The Great Movie Ride was shut down also over Easter.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this way.

I do know that they do film some things at MGM. When I was there a couple summers ago they had New York St. closed off for a commercial shoot, and I think that Raven's video on the Disney Channel might have been filmed there as well.

But I agree, it's not like a working studio.

We've always enjoyed the animation studios tour. That's where we got our heads up for Lilo and Stitch, and Treasure Planet.

Ciao,
Mort.
