We are staying home. We went out last night ( and the night before that) because a friend was in town. Sitter costs are $$ this week!

I'm not much of a New Years Eve partier, my dad died on New Years Eve ( several years ago but its still kind of an off day for me)

Besides, I'm a lightweight and dont drink much anymore. I am still exhausted form the other 2 nights so we will be probably be in bed by 10 LOL

Though I have to say I am not sad to 2006 go away.

DH and I always stay home, so we were recruited to babysit DGD.
After we get DGD in bed (7:30) we plan on watching a movie, eating some snacks and heading outback to the hottub with a glass of wine.

We'll be staying home. We throw some steaks on, make a few drinks and watch a movie in front of the fire. I can't take the smokey bars anymore and the weather's not really the greatest right now {40degrees and raining...in Wisconsin on Dec 31st....go figure!}. I'm actually looking forward to a nice laid back night.

I'm going to a party, although it was a last minute decision. The group I work with is all around the same age and one of the girls is having a party and my boyfriend and I have been persuaded to go. It'll probably be about a dozen of us from work, so it'll be fun because we all genuinely like each other so much. Tomorrow is going to be my only day off within a two week span though, so I am definitely refusing to spend it hungover, overtired, or sick.

We have invited another family of 5 over for tonight. The grown-ups will have some yummy appetizers and cocktails (pomitinis!) and then enjoy a late steak dinner. The 6 kids will be downstairs w/ toys and movies. We were going to make a campfire and do sparklers outside, but the weather is icky!

I voted other. We are going out to the Melting Pot. It's an awesome fondue restaurant. I couldn't get ressies until 9:45, though, so I'm trying to get DD7 to take a little nap now.

Hey I just met a guy from Glasgow last night.
( not that Id expect you to know him LOL just a happy coincidence!)

He's a hockey player. Cant remember his name but I loved his accent He was very nice as well.

My DH, DD and I will be going to a friend's house. DD and I are just staying for dinner though. DH will be staying for beer, poker and ringing in the New Year.

every year there is a thing called First Night... It is a Non Alcohol party for Families to spend together.. Fireworks on the Boardwalk, Arts n Crafts, Games, Clowns, Magicians, Food and a ton more of events that happen from 10am and runs all night long...

So sorry this is a hard day for you. I don't like New year's, not sure why...my grandmother had a heart attack on NY Eve about 21 years ago, but survived (but spent the next few years in a nursing home). I wonder if that is what makes me depressed this day.

Im suprised you understood him!!!! Everytime we come to the US people say - "pardon me? you're talking way too fast"!!

We dont play much Hockey in Glasgow - so he's probably only 1 of about the only 10 guys in Glasgow who do!!

We're going to a Monarchs hockey game (they're AHL, the farm team for the LA Kings). Following the game is a break where they show a year in review type video, then there's about a 10 minute indoor fireworks display, choreographed to music. Then coming home and I at least will probably not make it to see the ball drop; I've got to work retail all day tomorrow. We've gone to this game the last 3 or 4 years in a row and it's a lot of fun
