So as a tool to get to know folks, and just simple voyueristic curiosity..... "Whatcha Doin' Today???"


The job hunt continues. Thinking about yesterday's. The meeting was ok. They were more of a contract company than a recruiting agency, but they do recruiting too. While I'd rather find something full time, a contract deal is work, and is the direction a lot of places are going. He mentioned, to no surprise, that the KC market is flooded with IT/Software folks, thanks in no small part to my former employer, Sprint. He mentioned they do contract placements in Topeka, Witchita, and other regional locations. Not sure what I'd think of the world of being a contractor, but it would be work.

Today, job club at church at 9.

Today, I'm taking DS to lego camp. We'll have a bit of homeschooling. I NEED to mop (2 drinks have been spilt). And the never-ending laundry.

I am home with pink eye.. gonna put the finishing touches on school work and then go to my interview this afternoon.... so excited.

I'm taking care of babies, need to do some dishes and clean the playroom.
Then, DBF will be home early this afternoon and hope he takes us to lunch

I took a basic skills test this morning to determine how long I'd have to be on the wait list for the nursing program at school.. 95th percentile, woohoo!

I took a nap for like 2 hours after that, lol.. then got some food w/my fiance from a local restaurant, Sushi House.. sooo good. and now I'm at work til 8! After work I'll probably need to clean up our condo a bit, my parents are coming into town on Friday from Florida and will probably spend some time at our place. Last time my mom was in my place, she felt the need to clean my sink for me Hopefully I can get it picked up enough so she won't feel the need to clean it for me, haha!

Up here at the lake - in the mountains - where I live 7 months out of the year.. It's been a very, very rainy season and today is no different.. Right now we're having torrential downpours - and there has been a flash flood warning since I got up this morning..

I'm bored - and DISing - until the severe thunderstorms fire up - then I'll unplug my lap top and read..

I'm back in school this summer trying to get certified to teach 6th-12th grade. Today I went to class and thought I was going to get blown away because it's been storming here like crazy. I'm about to run to Target and hopefully talk to my DFiance who's 4 hours away in our house..

Since my kitchen is torn up, I'm doing some cleaning in my bedroom. I should be ironing, but my plantar fasciitis hurts too much to stand.

Tonight, we're going to a near-by winery to see the Steve Miller Band. DH & I are taking our 2 sons and DDILs. Supposed to be cold - gotta layer!

Nothing. We are on vacation and DD is sick (had to take her to the doc) so I'm just going to hang out and read.

Today (Thursday) was a busy day.

• 2 Job Club/Networking meetings
• Lunch with a couple former co-workers (including my former supervisor)
• contacted a recruiter I've spoken with before
• submitted online applications to a couple of job postings I found online
• swapped a couple e-mails with a kind travel agent seeking more career targeted information. I will make this happen, in addition to finding a job.
• made supper for my wife, my daugher and I (grilled pork steaks, fresh corn on the cob & garden salad).

And now, when I should really be in bed, I'm sitting up watching the final 2 episodes of the first season of Carnivale, I got the DVDs for Christmas and just now getting around to watching. Now I'll probably have to go buy season 2, or wait for Christmas. I love this show. Watched it when it originally ran on HBO, and watching it again now I'm seeing so many more clues and details.

Friday...
I'm still doing NOTHING. DD is still sick. I spent all of thursday minus the time I took to go to get my eye brows waxed, a quick trip to Babies R Us to get a new infant car seat, and to Gymbo to get some things I wanted all totaling about 1.5 hrs worth of time, cleaning up puke. DD is sick sick...blah. So today, I will be taking her BACK to the doctor and just hanging out around the house hopefully NOT cleaning up any more puke.

I didn't see this thread yesterday so I will answer for today.

We all have Vacation Bible School in about 2 hours. Have to get the crew all dressed and breakfasted first. Then, after that, I am thinking of taking the kids out for lunch and was hoping for the pool...but the weather shows 60% chance of rain. Yuck.

We are doing a college visit with DS17 then picking the twins up from band camp on the way home.

Today is our last day at LBI, tomorrow we leave. DH & I were talking about leaving today to get a jump on traffic etc but my kids do not miss home as much as we do, they LOVE being with their friends so now I think we may stay through the storms to give them another day.

The house is quiet because my family is still sleeping so I have no idea what else is in store for me today. I hope, hope, hope it will be a good day.

Last day of DS's lego camp. Have to renew the tags on DH's jeep and trailer. Groceries. And I have to pack to go to the inlaws for the weekend. (Surprise 30th B-day party for BIL)

Today is probably going to be boring. I have little work on the shop right now, I'm waiting for a part to show up so I can finish putting the one gearbox I have back together so I can test run it. I'll probably take my new troops out to the flight line and let them see the F-15's up close and maybe watch some launches too. Yep, boring.

Wohoo I have the day off. I'm going into Boston for the day with a friend to do some shopping. Then tonight we are going to see the Keith Urban and Taylor Swift concert.

Going to do some bookkeeping for DH's business and then go pay his quarterly sales tax which is due today. Nothing like leaving things till the last minute.

That should take up my morning, once I stop Dis'ing. Then I think we will rent a movie for tonight and just play out the rest of the day by ear.

Boring stuff

Went to pharmacy to pick up ds 19 post surgery meds
Taking care of ds today, made post op surgeon appt. for him.
Sitting while ds17 practices driving to work, throw in the big lunch I made for him too
Waiting for ds 21 to ask me to make him lunch before work etc. You get the picture, good ole mom stuff. And just being happy and praising God I am cancer free today and we'll know next week how that is going.
