I know most of us are in for a very cold blustery weekend! It's down right bone chilly cold:sad2:and most of us are planning on hunkering down for the weekend.

I am planning on cooking some real good ole comfort food this weekend. I already started with a pot of homemade soup on the stove, some hot bread in the oven.

So whatcha cookin' this cold weekend?

So far, we're planning on a ham and potato soup tonight and a pot roast for tomorrow. :)

I have already told DH, that it's Ham and Bean soup with cornbread on Sunday.

Not sure about Sat....way to many things going on. It may be a pizza night.

Tonight is fried chicken with mashed redskin garlic/Parmesan potatoes and vegetable to yet be determined.

Tomorrow is chicken and dumplings.

Sunday is baked ham with a maple/chipotle glaze!!!

I am trying a new recipe

SLow Cooker Chipotle Beef Stew looks good, has beans and beef anbd fire roasted tomaters yum yum

split pea soup, salad and fresh baked bread.. YUMMY!!

Beer cheese soup with ceasar salad

Bean, ham and kale soup with french bread

Mmm... what's better than soup and bread on a cold day? My friend is making potato cheese soup and I'm making beer bread on Sunday. Probably a dessert, too. I also made banana bread last night which has almost been gobbled up by my daughters.
Maybe I'll get some good ideas for tomorrow's dinner from this thread!

Last night was beef stroganoff and tonight is chili and cornbread (we got our freezing temps Wed-today....tomorrow will be back toward 50 out).

I just finished making malai kofta with white rice as a side. It's a mix of vegetables fried into rounds, which I incorporated into a cream (well, half & half to be a smidge healthy ) sauce that has onions, tomatoes, cashews, almonds, cloves, cinnamon, elaichi, garlic, curry, cumin, coriander and some other things which I'd write down now but I think I have some eating to do!

This weekend it will be whatever my parents want to make.

We had cheddar cheese soup (the Le Cellier recipe) and homemade pretzles with salad tonight.
I think we will have baked chicken enchiladas in sour cream sauce tomorrow and vegetarian chili with cobblestone cheese bread Sunday.
Funny how certain things just seem to need to be cooked/eaten when it gets really cold.

It's super cold here. Single digits pretty much all weekend. I'm making some potato soup tonight and some beer bread.

Nothing better than chili on a cold day!

Homemade Chili with crackers. I am freeze. I can't wait for warm up next week.

Sausage and chicken gumbo in my new pressure cooker. I hope it turns out well or it is Taco Bell for us :).

I planned on making chili, but now I think I'll make some beer bread to go with it! :thumbsup2
