I called today to pay off my room only Best rate ressie for our December 9th check in. When I called, she said I could not pay anything, my balance was due upon check in.

Since when?

Disney does not want my money! :confused3

Why ? Just wondering what their thought is on not allowing online ressies to make payments.

It's because if it's a BRP ressie, the rate could drop, therefore you could overpay and Disney would rather not deal with refunds.

I can somewhat understand, but at the same time - How difficult would it really be to issue a credit to a credit card?

Oh, I thought I was locked in at the Best Rate for that time of booking. I really do not know everything about this BR stuff. Do rates really drop? Wow ! What a nice surprise if it did. :)

YES they do drop. You are "locked in" for the rate you sign up for or better.

many have reported rate drops. I think BRP is 100x better than the old system of calling every week for codes.

LOL,I tried to Upgrade yesterday from Mod to Deluxe. I couldn't because I was within the 60 day window..It was going to DOUBLE what I paid for the Mod... Nothing like cutting off you nose to spite your face.

I don't know that there's much logic in it - they still have to do a credit for the difference in rates for the one night deposit. My rate went down for my January trip and they credited my account the difference for the deposit and my amount due went down the difference for the other nights.

It's not because they don't want your money or becuase the rate might drop. It's simply because the system will not allow more than a one night payment on any reservation that begins with the letter R. It could be a programming issue or something of that nature...I'm not sure. I know it seems that if all other reservations allow full pymnts that it shouldn't be too difficult for them to rework the system so that R reservations can as well, but I guess they must have other more important issues to resolve. :confused3
