What year of college is most recommended before doing a PI

Hello,

I did a regular CP in Spring 2011 and just graduated from a two year school. I am starting my degree in electrical engineering this Fall and I'd love to apply for an Imagineering PI at some point. Can you do a PI at any point throughout college, or should I wait until my junior or senior year?

From my experience, a lot of the PIs I looked at or applied for said you had to be at least a junior or a senior. Some of them said you had to be a senior. So I think Junior is a cutoff point? They say specifically what year you have to be in/have to have completed in the job description.
