What would your suggestion be for a non character meal for lunch in WDW?

do you want a park or resort? hollywood brown derby at MGM is great at lunch. the plaza at MK has huge portions that can be shared. over at AK, we enjoy tusker house for lunch(and breakfast), and then at world showcase--just take your pick!! of course there are other sit-downs but these have been favorites. and of course the counter service restaurants for a quick meal. actually, tusker house is a counter service. in the resorts, just about anyone would be a good choice. whispering canyon cafe can be rowdy. be sure to check the serving times as some of the resort restaurant do not serve lunch, just dinner. have you looked at the menus at deb's site: www.wdwig.com good info on deb's site! happy eating!:p

Sit down restaurant - The Plaza Restaurant at the end of Main Street - nothing fancy, relaxing and great Rueben sandwiches. Counter service I would opt for Cosmic Rays because of the variety - they have 3 counters in one building - burgers (with fixing bar), chicken and a soup, sandwich and salad counter. Pecos Bills is also good too.

If you want to take a break from the parks, take the monorail to the Polynesian and have lunch at Kona Cafe. This is one of our favorite restaurants. I think they have the best burgers in WDW.

Another suggestion would be Cinderella's castle. Or if you would like a quick meal, try Pecos Bills. There burgers are pretty good too.

In Epcot, we like to browse in WS and snack. They have some very good vendors such as beaver tails (Canada), Fish & Chips (England), pretzels (Germany), and any thing sweet (France).

In MGM, we have a problem. I really don't care for any of the "fast" options. We always opt for Prime Time.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! We're looking for either Parks or Resorts. ;)

In the Magic Kingdom.... The Liberty tree Tavern
near the Magic Kingdom ... The Whispering Canyon cafe at the Wilderness Lodge.
In Epcot.... Restaurant Akershus
Near Epcot... The Yacht Club Galley at the Yacht Club or Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club.
At Disney MGM .... The 50's Prime Time Cafe.
Near Disney MGM.... same as near Epcot
At the Animal Kingdom.... Flame Tree BBQ
Near Animal Kingdom....uh...um..... well!!!

I'd head to Epcot's World Showcase! There's plenty to choose from there. I'd go to San Angel or Restaurant Marrakesh, but there are certainly other good options.

Is Aunt Polly's, over on Tom Sawyer Island.

A PB&J sandwich and a carton of milk and I'm good to go! :)

Plus, it's relatively quiet and peaceful.
