If you are getting married on Lake of the Ozarks, which I love by the way, I would head west.
You could jump on Route 66. It would a beautiful drive and still not very hot at that time of year.
Me too. The Ozarks are nearly in the middle of the country. You could make to Denver or even Yellowstone National Park in a couple days. Perhaps follow the Oregon Trail part of the way. Or take route 66 and see the Grand Canyon. Or head up to Rapid City, SD, and see Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Wind Cave, the Badlands, Devils Tower, and Custer State Park--beautiful part of the country.
I'm a big fan of road trips. We took our kids cross-country with our RV in 2007 and I can't wait to go again. I think 2012 might be our year.
