My awesome boss gave me a $100 Disney gift card for my company anniversary :yay: (and Mickey Mouse ears with my name on them!). I need help spending it! :)

DH and and I are going in September w/o our girls to celebrate our anniversary. Our tickets (we have APs) and hotel (Hojos) are taken care of and I am surprising DH with the Segway tour.

So what would you spend the money on? A nice souvenir? If so, what? A nice dinner? Something else?

For me.. it would be souvenirs all the way. Are you or DH a pin trader/collector? You can buy a good amount of pins for $100.00. Or you could get some t-shirts and other small stuff you want.

I love souvenirs and always wish I had more money for them.

I say go to a nice dinner, but thats just me. Or in fact, go to the Blue Bayou for lunch because the prices are a bit cheaper for dinner and its the same food. I love it in there :)

I would personally either put it towards a DLR hotel room, OR if I didn't have an AP it would go to that....OR I could load up on souvenirs, but I am not as much of a souvenir junkie as I used to be, thankfully! So these days, what I would likely do is spend it on a few different character meals. I would go the 'menu route' at Storytellers and Lilo and Stitch rather than buffet, and then do Goofy's Kitchen and Minnie & Friends (and just pay whatever the difference was in cash).

I am not a pin collector, but I guess I could get a good start with this gift card!

I had actually thought about Blue Bayou, because in all of the times we have been to DL we have never eaten there, and it would be nice for our anniversary....

I could put it aside to go towards APs for next year (ours expire in January)...that's an idea. I don't think we will go to a character meal until we go for DD's b-day in November. I was also thinking about maybe jewelry of some sort, I saw a really cute Mickey watch at World of Disney in June. I love hearing everyone else's ideas....:goodvibes

My daughter got one from Disneyland on her birthday ( we are annual pass holders so they give the admission price on a gift card for you to spend in the park) and she bought pins.. it was great they are so pricey it was nice to get some "on disney"

Get one of the silhouttes on mainstreet and one of the frames for it. Don't know what store it is but there is a little one about halfway down main street that has a lot of jewelry in it and most of it is really reasonable. It's on the left hand side as you are walking into the parks.

I always get the silhouttes done of my girls, that's a good idea to get one done of me and DH! :) I will check out the shop with the jewelry, thanks!

I like every one's ideas! For me, I would spend it at the Blue Bayou. I enjoy dining there. Waterside seating is very nice to dine by, especially so. Anywhere really though, is a good table to be had at the Blue Bayou. I believe that it would make for an especially nice anniversary dinner.
I most likely would spend the balance (If there is one) at Marcelines Confectionery Shop in DTD. Oh, how I love that shop!

One can make their P.S. 60 days out. Just call Disney Dining: 1-714-781-3463. Water side seating cannot be requested at the time one makes their P.S. with Disney Dining, but rather at the time when one arrives at the podium at the Blue Bayou to check in. I suggest arriving at least 15 minutes early to do so, earlier is even better.
Your employer sounds very nice to work for, and if your company expands into Northern Ca. please let me know when.

Yes, I am very lucky, I get to work from home and have the nicest people to work for! :) If we ever need someone in CA, I will keep you in mind Gisele! ;)

I think I would either get a sweatshirt since I usually see one I like but just can't quite justify the price, or spend it on a nice dinner like at Steakhouse 55, Napa Rose, or BB.

Also, I have another idea for you. You could get yourself and your DH both lanyards with a certain number of pins and then each pick a character or theme to find pins for. Then make it a contest to see who can trade all their original pins first and get the ones you're looking for. Does that make sense? I know DH and I always have fun doing little contests like that. One time we did the penny slots in Vegas. We each had 100 pennies and whatever we "won" would go in a separate pile from the original 100 pennies. At the end we saw who had more. Actually, it was the casino who won that one since we both ended up with less than a dollar! It was fun though!

Whatever you choose, have fun spending it!

come on its obvious............................ candy !! :lmao:

at least I would spend it all on candy :lmao:

Have you considered Napa Rose in the Grand? You could have a very special anniversary dinner there.

Do they selll Transformers there yet *** if so .. id go for that :thumbsup2

seriously thou ... in one of the stores on mainstreet i love the ornament of the seven dwarfs walkin along the tree :)

I echo the napa rose....even though I have never been there, I have read enough to want to go when we can afford it.

Or I like the sweatshirt idea.....can you find some kind of matching sweatshirt or t-shirt? Have have a pic taken in front of the castle or something? A shirt would be used again and again.....

Have a wonderful trip!!!

I'd probably go for BB or something in the gallery store. The problem with the gallery store is I usually pick out something that's over $100 (I like prints). :sad2:

The gallery store was my first thought as well, but pretty much my whole house has a touch of Disney somewhere. lol

A nice dinner would be my second choice.
