What would you recommend?

For all of you Disney Travel experts, what kind of a bag would you recommend be taken into the park(s)?

It depends on how much you carry. Cross body bags are a really good option. I really like the Coach swingpacks. They don't get in your way and can hold a camera, wallet, sunglasses, room key, cell.

If you need to hold more, a messenger type cross body would work well too.

When I first came on here before our trip everyone was oohing & ahhing over Baggalini's. So I bit, bought one off Ebay - & LOOOOOOVE IT!! :lovestruc

It was great in the parks, I use it when we go to the zoo or any day trip - it also is a cross body bag - lightweight, lots of compartments - but totally streamlined.

I highly recommend the Baggalini...or any Baggalini knockoff.:thumbsup2

i have only been once, but it really depends on what all you need to have with you. do you have babies? toddlers? just yourself?

i am a big fan of messenger bags myself.

I agree that it depends on what you'll want to carry on you. We bring our own water bottles now in to the park, so we always have a regular backpack. Water bottles, camera ect... We take turns on who carries it.

We like our Ameribag. It works for us. We take our camera, water bottles, and snacks. It also has several compartments that are convenient. We've taken it 4 or 5 times now and it stands up to all the abuse. It also is easy to get it in and out of the netting that keeps your personals from flying out of the rides. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone. I will definately look into those options.
I will be travelling with 2 young kids (6 & 4), a DSLR camera to tote around and of course water bottles and snacks.
By the way - what kinds of snacks are allowed in Disneyland?

Any types of snacks are fine, just no glass...they do a quick bag search when you walk in. I always bring a diaper bag, but before we had kids, DH and I each wore a backpack for water and snacks. Then if we bought anything we could just throw it in there and you can just bring it with you on the rides.

Fanny packs...might be practical, but they are sooooo ugly! JMO of course!:rotfl:

For the normal camera, wallet, sunscreen, stuff, I do like my baggallini (though it injures me with the velcro when I have it up enough so it doesn't pull on my spine).

But we generally carry another thing with us, like a lightweight backpack, for extra clothes. Actually on this last trip, we had an old Disneyland shopping bag that we carried things in, and then went into a store and asked for an "extra" shopping bag...when you do that, they give you a CLEAR bag so they can see what you have in there, and we switched it out. Blanket, warmer shirt, extra shoes for when we knew we were going on Grizzly, that sort of thing.

After being stolen from (twice, actually) we carry EVERYTHING with us on rides, so having convenient bags is good. The first theft was outright theft, with someone going into our stroller and pulling out DS's brand new pirate hat from underneath an old sweatshirt and baseball cap. The second was stealing after we misplaced a 2 day old "build your own" lightsaber...we misplaced it, 10 minutes later realized it, and it was GONE, never turned in to Lost and Found. You can see why we make sure everything has a place in a bag now, instead of just relying on strollers or hands. EAsier to count bags than try to figure out if hands are holding everything you had. :)

We're a family of four, and we always bring a backpack. With our extra jackets/sweatshirts that may be needed later in the evening, along with our ponchos, water bottles, camera, cell phones, sunscreen, and whatever else, there's NO WAY we could do it without a backpack.

DH and I will take turns carrying it. (But I rarely have to carry it unless his shoulders are just killing him.)

When I'm there without the family (like for the Ladies Only Trip) I use a tote or a backpack, depending on my mood (and the weather).:goodvibes

I'm a fanny pack fan, personally. I used to wear a purse or a backpack...but it was a pain, literally and figuratively. The fanny pack is so much easier. I don't even have to take it off for rides.

And I, personally, don't look too shabby in a fanny pack...haha.

My only problem is the disneyland one I bought is way too big for me, even adjusted to be as small as it will go. so my husband had to modify it to fit me better.

Our first two trips we had diapers and toddler stuff so we took one big backpack. Last trip we didn't need diapers and got by with one small backpack - like a half-size one. I carry my camera by the strap around my body (like a messenger bag) so I can get to it fast. The backpack had water bottles, snacks, autograph book and pens, camera charger and extra memory card and three ponchos. No problem.

I have no tolerance for a bag, either the hassle or the weight....so I wear a safari /travel vest.

not stylish....but it holds tons and is so convienent. We all have them

Not too shabby. I wonder if the wife would go for it. I've given up on being fashionable. Utility wins more often these days.

I wore a fanny pack (I call it a "pouch") during our last trip. I had that thing so crammed full of stuff as I was carrying things for 3 people. I am shocked it stayed in one piece.

This next trip, I have the Baggallini Messenger bag. I have used it for 2 field trips with my son's class at school, and it holds a lot more than the pouch.

I am looking forward to taking it to Disneyland! And looking forward to not being the only person to wear it (DH has stated that he will carry it some also - thank goodness!!).

I have a cute little Mickey Mouse cross style sling bag. I love it, it's green striped and has a Mickey on it. I carry my phone and my camera in the front pocket and my wallet, pins and lanyards (when I'm not wearing them) in the regular pocket and my Tink cap in the very back pocket. I got mine from Avon, I'm a consultant. :)

I'm wondering where you got these and about how much they are? Thanks

I see you're in Mukilteo, I'm in Edmonds! ;-) Anyway - I googled Safari Travel Vest and it seems as if you can get them loads of places. I have to go get rain ponchos today anyway, so I am going to look at Ed's Surplus on 196th in Lynnwood - they always seem to have stuff like that. Other than that, I suggest hunting/sports stores, photography stores and, if all else fails, REI at Alderwood.

I third (Fourth?) the Baggallini. I even bought one for a friend because she loved mine so much. I tried on a fanny pack the other day and it was just not as comfortable to me as the Bagg.
