What would you recommend?

It's going to be a small messenger bag for me if I can find one that doesn't look too much like a purse. I've decided against the Safari vest. A simple bag is a little easier to remove when you sit or get on rides. Plus I don't think I want to throw one of those on over a coat which I might be wearing. I might consider one for a Summer trip if I ever decide to take one some day.

I see you're in Mukilteo, I'm in Edmonds! ;-) Anyway - I googled Safari Travel Vest and it seems as if you can get them loads of places. I have to go get rain ponchos today anyway, so I am going to look at Ed's Surplus on 196th in Lynnwood - they always seem to have stuff like that. Other than that, I suggest hunting/sports stores, photography stores and, if all else fails, REI at Alderwood.

Let me know what you find at Ed's. That is a great idea. I bought a great bag for me to use, but would consider the vests for hubby and son, because then their stuff would be secure in those velcro pockets.
