What would you recommend for a family of 6--4 kids, ages 3-14--for New Years Eve. I'm thinking something in Epcot would be cool because of the countries celebrating. Thanks.

I think it depends what you're looking for. We went to the Studios last New Year's Eve, which is where we'll celebrate again this New Year's. The MK and Epcot are the most packed parks. The pluses to Epcot is that the crowds have more space to disperse. They also have celebrations for each country's New Year time zone, though I don't know how that works. We considered going to Epcot, but didn't like how it when we heard how crazy it can get, because it is a park where alcohol is allowed (we are a married couple with no kids, and we don't drink) and on New Year's people can get crazy there. At least, that's what I have heard. We didn't like the idea of crowds, New Year's, drunk people. . .not in Disney.

Whereas, the Studios also has live performances going on, like at the other parks. It never seemed to get out of hand. There were a lot of families there, which we thought was nice.

I wish you well, with whicheve park you decide to go to. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. It's New Year's at WDW! :cool1:

Thanks for the insights. We also do not drink, and the kids get frightened when crowds get out of hand because people have been drinking. (This happened at Universal, and they don't want to go back!) We just thought it would be neat to see some of the countries celebrate New Year's. Your idea sounds more like what we were looking for! :goodvibes

I'm glad I could be of help. We're going again this year. If you haven't gone this time of year before feel free to check out my last trip report on the trip we took December of '07 and I'm also doing a pre-trip report now for when we go back this December. I'd be more than happy to discuss ideas of what to expect and what not to miss. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, too. You guys will have a blast! :goodvibes
