What would you like to see in the new era?

It’s been said, but I’d love for former people who don’t currently work for the Dis to make occasional appearances. Reviving Off The Rails with Deni would be a great start.

I don’t think we need the Tuesday show in its old format, but we definitely need a weekly panel show just to serve as an anchor for the Dis content.

Also, just want to say - I appreciate when during dining reviews there are dishes that need to be modified when they're ordered. I get so many questions from other people about visiting Disney with food allergies. It's helpful to show how Disney can adjust menu items, or otherwise help those with food allergies have a meal.

I'd love to see J&K resume dining reviews. They were always good, even when the restaurant was bad. A plus for me was that my food tastes are very similar to theirs so if they liked a place there was a good chance that I'd like it too.

Craig, I look forward each week to the Tuesday videos. I'm hoping that the changes will be in a positive direction.
What makes the show great is the enthusiasm you guys have for WDW. It doesn't mean you have to love everything, but you show that you're disney fans and want to be there.
I like when you do a broadcast from the parks.
do a segment on disney transportation. Ride the skyliner, the monorail, the ferry. Talk about it, show it. Do a segment on each park. If you could only do 3 attractions at each park, what would they be? You cover the new rides, but what about talking about the tried and true rides, the ones that made you disney fans. Re-visit attractions that you usually skip, and rethink your opinions. Walk along the Boardwalk and show everything that's there.
Your coverage of the galactic starcruiser was great, because your excitement and enthusiasm showed. Same thing when you cover the night time shows and fireworks. That's what people enjoy, watching others who love disney, having fun.
And I agree with others that you should review drinks. Unique beers at the festivals, favorite cocktails, etc.
Most of all, just focus on what excites you about WDW.

Honestly, a not so teary goodbye to the Tuesday show here. There is a reason that I did not attend the California event. I love the podcast group. I adore this community. Disneyland is amazing. I normally would jump at any chance to go back. The reason I did not go? Pete

The Tuesday show had become like some type of cultish church service. Every once in a while Pete would come in to do his sermon at the end to his aggrieved masses. When did he lose me completely? The episode announcing the ABD trip around the world. Shortly after our sermon on not hating on people who can afford luxuries like concierge, he gave this sermon on tone deafness and how how of touch Disney was with consumer financials. So everything Disney was fine and dandy if Pete could afford it (kinda) but if his gold purse couldn’t touch it, it was an affront to every Disney fan out there. It wasn’t the first time his takes had put me off, but that was it. I was done with his Disney hypocrisy and I swore I would never go to an event again.

That is where I do not want the show to go again. I am one of the few, it seems, that did not have a problem with “political“ comments. I want everyone to speak from their own experience. It may be the case that one of your situations is very similar to one of ours, I do want those comments to stick to the topic at hand and how one’s experience was changed due to the current climate. To me, that is fair game and not political. I do not want anyone speaking on behalf of every Disney “true fan” out there. There is a line there and it went from either you are all in on the group’s beliefs, or your feedback was not welcomed. This went way beyond the current political stuff. Craig, you read my comments to feedback a few times to Pete, only to have him comment back that I had no idea what I was talking about and was wrong. I’m guessing that you all may have quite a bit of experience with this as well. I’m fine with disagreement, but this “there is only one right and you are wrong” is not desirable in any new format. There came a point to where Pete would ask for more questions, and I had no idea why anyone would still ask him anything just to get a “thank you, sir, may I have another” beatdown.

So…what would I want next?

—Some announced live shows minus the Tuesday weekly service. The live chat, as toxic of a hellhole soup as it was at times, was a great place for real time feedback as well as group conversation. I would hate to lose that completely

—News when there is news. Seriously. Not just having a show because you have to, but because you really want to experience and share something. It really did feel like it was being called in although I am sure the work behind it was not minimal

—In addition to news, some new reviews on older things with a fresh set of eyes and the current state of things. I have watched quite a few newer videos like this recently and they are great. What is old to some, is brand new to others. Expand on them and keep them coming!

—Guest hosts from home. This has happened before, and I am not sure who did not love it. Some of the speakers were fantastic and they each gave their own experience. Once again, I really REALLY would love to get away from there being a right opinion and a wrong opinion. Us non-Floridians are not all the same either

—A less critical tone. Yes, call out Disney when they get it wrong. Loudly. But for the love of all things Disney, do not make it a pile on. Every time I visit the parks, and I do go often, the magic is still there. It really is. Then I watch the shows and it is fire and brimstone with magic being seized from you at the gates and the rainbow ending at Universal down the street. Something went off the rails (pun completely intended) and it needs to be righted. A show about Disney, focusing on kvetching nonstop about Disney, is not very marketable except to those inside the Disney moan and groan bubble

Those are my initial thoughts. I was hesitant to share anything at first, but since it is all being redone I would love for it to get started on the best footing that I can. Of course, I am just one voice in the masses, but those are my thoughts.

100% agree. Pete's rant about people hating on him for his money was where I lost interest, too. His "I worked hard for this" came across as ungrateful and pompous. Turns out it was a charade, so I guess our gut reaction was a good one.

It seems to be a vocal minority who doesn't like "political" talk (I'd guess it's mostly those who don't agree with Disney standing up to a certain person). There are many of us who are personally affected by recent events. Everything the team has said lately is applicable to Disney planning and many of us care deeply about it. Let the team share their thoughts. No need to censor.

This. I love the show and the team but it is very much at its most awkward when people are reading from a script. The live show from California was fantastic and although Craig had notes and an outline, it wasn’t heavily scripted. They weren’t reading Disney press releases. They were speaking from their hearts and passions and experiences. Give us more of that. Let people share what Disney stuff they’ve been up to the past week or what they’re looking forward to. And some audience interaction would be fine, too. Make the show more spontaneous and “real”. Anybody can read the news. We tune in to the DIS because of the people and personalities. Focus on that strength.

Just from my own experience with YouTube's algorithm, without a schedule, YouTube does't always advertise that a new video is out and the videos can lose traction. I agree that having news when there actually is news instead of trying to expand on a minimal topic, but a scheduled show helps the channel to attract new viewers

I agree. I think having a set schedule is important to maintaining viewership. If it’s a slow news week, then have a discussion topic or do a review or take questions from chat or put up a Facebook poll the day before and talk about the results but have a show no matter what.

Out of curiosity, for those who really want a Live Show in the middle of a workday, what content do you think such a show would contain such that broadcasting live becomes mission critical? Restaurant reviews don’t have to be live. Attraction closures and refurbishment news? No. Genie+ strategies? No. Resort reviews? No. Food and Wine walk throughs? Announcements of Candlelight Procession guests? No and No. Political updates? No. I’m really struggling to find any content that wouldn’t benefit from being pre-recorded, edited, polished and prettied up before it was released a day or two after recording. Are the logistics of producing a live show really worth it if the content isn’t dependent on being delivered live? Seems to me that a Live Show always suffers from the same issue which is the need to fill the hourlong space afforded it when there isn’t an hour’s worth of content. If you go back and read what people didn’t like about the show recently, most of the complaints tie back to issues that are inherent in producing a show in live format . Inconsistent panels (due to availability) and filler content (caused by a need to use up the hour). Both problems get solved by producing pre-recorded content. Still not seeing the net positive of going live.

I, like many others, use Dis-youtube as a means to have a taste of my happy place at home. I'm obviously only speaking for myself, so this is just one person's preferences, so here's my take:

-I love disney dining and it's one of the reasons I visit so much, but I personally am not a fan of the way that the current iteration of the dining show is presented. I find it redundant to have a round table discussion about every entree. I mainly want to see it, and get a few words about it. I love dining videos that are like "trying the new eats at ____" or "snacking around _____". Perhaps the team could do some voiceovers after the fact to avoid the repetitive nature of trying to explain why you like or dislike something. I look forward to seeing Craig flex his editing skills and creativity moving forward. I am excited to see some more creative stuff now that the ceiling is being lifted.

- Off The Rails was the best thing the Dis has put out in a long time. I looked forward to that every week. The Craig/Ryno banter is something to lean into moving forward. In a over-saturated market of Disney Youtubers, Off The Rails was unique and something only you two could pull off. If you were going to lean into having something be a podcast, that should be it.

-I will echo previous statements, the Tuesday Show can go. It was mearly a platform for a narcissist to speak to his perceived audience and name drop Josh D'amaro. Did you know that P knew Josh?!

- I would love to see the team try some challenges. I don't mean the ones that currently exist on some other channels, but come up with some unique to what this team has to offer. Rather than going to a restaurant and having Erica discuss what she couldn't eat and why, maybe have a video dedicated to "A whole day of dairy-free in ____" and see if it can be done. Or showing what a day in the parks is like for someone with mobility issues. Or celebrating Pride in Disney. Lean into the things that represent the identities on your team!

- I think the company should adjust their policy on reviewing comped experiences. I think it's fair/expected/required to disclose when you haven't paid for something, but I want to hear your opinion about whether you liked it or not.

-Lastly, hire a female identifying persona dedicated to hosting on youtube. Erica is great on social media, but I'm talking about someone who has the flair for being on camera and whose expertise is the art of the gab. Craig brings the dry sense of humour and a lot of nuance, and I think someone is needed to balance him out. Bonus points if you can start hiring some diverse folks. My dream would be a personality like Adriana Redding from Delish.

Good luck to the team, I look forward to seeing what you can do. There will be growing pains, but it'll be worth it in the end.

If you are not a regular member of the chatterati, I can get where you are coming from in this. However, there are a bunch of us that do show up for these chats and we really have gotten to know each other. We interact with each other as well as the hosts. We even have our own sidebar kind of “off the rails” at times. So to answer your question…we would lose a bit of that sense of community. I show up when I can, watch later when I can’t. A regular time does allow us to more easily schedule and pop in when we can. That being said, I am absolutely fine with just announcing a date and time ahead of a live if it becomes more news dependent. I’d really hate to see the live format completely go away though

And I say that as one of the 50. I’ll get over it and add comments to the YT video instead.

Not at all. I said earlier than I never watch the Tuesday show live. I listen to the audio days later. It doesn’t usually hit the podcast app until Thursday anyway.

I don’t think my comment came along in the spirit it was intended. I honestly enjoy the interactive part. If it happens less frequently, I am fine with that as well. Heck, I’m fine without it being gone entirely but I’m just sharing my personal wishlist
