With a budget of $100 million and I would put in a ride. With a budget of a lot less, I'd put in a restaurant. With a budget even less than that, I'd put in a fine dining restaurant (MK really doesn't have one). With a little bit less budget, I'd put in a shop. Finally, with little to no budget, I'd put in something like a family sitting area with some nice landscaping.
I vote new ride. I really miss the old ride. I think it looks sad when you see the lagoon now. It really makes me miss the ride, plus it looks so empty there now!
What would you like to see at the old 20,000 Leagues site?
How about the old 20,000 Leagues! I know, I know...can't have that so I guess some dark ride/omni mover thing about a "Toad" that has "Wings" and gets caught in a submarine under the polar ice cap and is forced to drink Beverley until some worldly "Motion" thing appears on the "Horizon" and explains the "Wonders of Life" to a creature named "Figment".
My first thougt would have been to keep the water and design aFinding Nemo type ride/attraction...BUT since the water is gone...
Possibly a area with new counter service resturaunts with a "Disney past, presnt, future" theme...you could have items from the old 20000 leagues ride, Mr. Toad, etc and a glimpse into what the future may hold....Picnic tables and spots for Characters to drop by....
I think the Villians ride idea is cool but may work better at MGM...
A dark ride ala GMR featuring all of the Disney films that were not popular enough to get their own attraction. Aristocats, 101 Dalmations, Bambi, Fox and the Hound, Emperors new groove, Mulan, I could go on forever. They could be presented in order of release and it could be like a "History of Walt Disney Animation".
I would like them expand Toontown forward and make it much bigger and easier to get around. This could be such a cool area. If they would just move the entrance, they could expand the area.
Wow - some great replies. I just realized I didn't even answer my own question.
I know there's already a Dumbo ride, but I always wished there was a "Pink Elephants on Parade" ride. Neon colors, blacklights, psychedelic themes...I always thought that would be cool.
With all of thenew movies they have been releasing...Brother Bear, Home on the Range, along with some good classic movies they should put another ride! The last new themed ride was Pooh!
Something interactive! Maybe something with Timone and Pumba! (We love them!)
How about the jungle book??

According to this there were two plans developed for the area, with the thought to do a Villian Land and attraction on 20k site and the second plan, Fire Mountain to go back behind Pirates.
Interesting reading..........and I would LOVE A home for the VILLIANS ! I think it would be a huge teen attraction in MK.
I would utilize the previously existing area and make a water ride of some sort, using a Finding Nemo theme or some other classic Disney movie that had a water setting. Anything's better than the unused space that's there now.
I would love to see a water roller coaster set to the Nemo theme, but I heard they are building one at Typhoon Lagoon.
But actually I really think they need to build a bigger playground like the one in ToonTown directed at the age 6 and under. It would thin some more of the crowds from the ride areas and people with very small children could have a break with their kids while the older ones ride the bigger rides.
