I think the outcome is okay. Not great but club level plus a credit plus 1/3 refund of points seems okay.

What would annoy me would be if my spouse wasn’t sympathetic or supporting me if this happened to us…
Especially one that snores and might be one of the driving forces for the need of a 1BR. BTDT. OP, my life is so much better once my DH got his CPAP machine.
 
Just out of curiosity, what was the reason given for not having a 1-bedroom available, if that's what you booked a full 11 months out? I would be a bit taken aback if it happened to me - I could see if I had just booked something with little notice, or there was extensive construction at the resort where rooms might suddenly become unavailable, but seems unusual to just be told that what you booked 11 months out wasn't available anymore.
I remember walking by a room once (coincidently at BCV), where there were about 4 housekeepers with brooms sweeping up what sounded like broken glass and other items, a "suit" was standing there shaking his head-there'd been what seemed like a big party and a room trashed-considering how high occupancy usually is, I no longer wonder about last minute lack of availability, I just wonder about some people!
 
I didn't say cash could not be refunded, I said it was not FREE to refund. Disney is really not out anything if all they are doing is refunding points back to members. They are out the cash if they refund a cash stay.
It would not surprise me fulfilling cash reservations have higher priority than DVC owners - as you point out there is a hard cost otherwise.

Although for room preferences (building, floor, etc), it might be more realistic that DVC owners may be prioritized over cash - but not certain.
 
While not exactly what you wanted I believe they compensated fairly. With a side of trust me I understand the snoring thing but it is my wife and sleep can be far more valuable than CL.
In the past when things have happened I was offered points back I just asked for a credit instead at the resort as I did not want the points back. The credits are not big but it does exceed the reasonable value of the points. I know in the case you did not get the room you wanted but CL plus a credit plus some points back is more than fair. Enjoy it for a different experience.
I would have taken CL over a different resort to me not worth the cash cost in most cases but nice for breakfast, snacks and a few drinks here and there.
