For August 2014-3 weeks flying from Newcastle, staying in a villa-4 adults.

What do you think is a reasonable ballpark figure?:)

You'll get a lovely 3-4 bed villa for £500-£550 per week. I'm not sure how expensive flights are from Newcastle but I bet they're steep over the summer hols so would expect Glasgow to be cheaper but probably budget £700 pp and keep your eyes open for early seat discounts from places like Netflights.com

Car hire £400-£450 for the 3 weeks.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply.:)

Where do you think we'll find flights from Glasgow for around £700 for?
Newcastle are £1100:furious:

I know it's a definite way to save money,but won't fly indirect.

We have flown from Glasgow and Manchester previously with virgin and Thomas cook.
Thomson flights were scary for all 3 airports.:confused3

Thanks, it's difficult to say for next year since it's too early for deals but as an indication Thompson have 3 week GLA flights for £750 for THIS Aug from 18/8. However they have two weeks leaving the following week for just £500 so it shows there are still deals to be had this summer.

Fact is on any flight there will be people sitting next to each other who will have paid massively different pricies for the same seats - so its just a question of shopping around and booking 9-6 months in advance IMO

I would have followed a £1k rule

£1kpp for flights
£1k per week for accomodation & food

4 adults & 3 weeks : £7.000

I'd add £1k on top of that for tickets, car, parking, gaz and spends.

I would consider at least a £8.000 budget, hoping to manage to do it for much less.

Unfortunately,I think your £8k seems to be the figure.
Big last family holiday blowout-with a bang?! :rotfl:

IMO for 4 for 2 weeks
Flights £3,000
Villa £1,100
Tickets £1,400 (Disney and Universal)
Car hire £400 (mid size at least)
So that's approx £6,000

After that it depends what you need for food, bit of Gas and spending money. If you want to eat out every night then that will go up, but if you like chilling out at home some evenings then that saves a lot. Whatever you do the cost of food (in or out) plus Gas is a LOT cheaper than UK.

We're 4 adults going for 3 weeks in Aug this year and staying on site at OKW and of the top of my head it cost us around £9,200. That's flying direct from Man. 1 bedroom Villa at OKW and car hire.

Wow, 3 weeks at okw-you'll never want to leave!
We stayed for 2 weeks in August 2010,and paid around £3600 for accommodation and tickets.(2 bed villa)
Stayed at ssr the following year for around the same price-sadly not seen prices like that since.:confused3

I think we're more or less sorted with plans now, just seems such a lot of money- but never been away for 3 weeks before-will be wonderful.:cool1:
