What would you do?

One night of our stay I would like to take our dds (ages 4 and 2) to the campfire and hayride at Ft. Wilderness. I currently have PS set up for Trail's End at 6:00pm. But I can't fit in O'hana's (which I really wanted to try) in any other time. Would it be possible to have an early dinner (say around 5:30 or 6:00) at O'hana's and then get transportation over to Ft. Wilderness in time for the campfire/hayride? Is Trail's End a nice meal? Thanks, I've only been to WDW once and that was for my Senior trip (I'm now 35) so I really have no idea what I'm doing!

even w/an early time at ohana you might have a wait. i would opt for trail's end and then the hayride, etc. trail's end is a buffet; we really enjoy the food here some of which is what is served for the HDD. there is nothing fancy about trail's end, but all in all a good place for any meal served. :earboy2:

we always eat brkfst at te but didn't go for dinner last trip so it's been a while for me to compare the two for dinner .imo in general it's better food than ohana( at least pre menu change and the meats at Ohana were blech) and you have a selection. TE is not fancy and is themed like a rustic camp type place( at least that's what it reminds me of) but we have always liked our meals there and love the hayride and campfire. . if you are set on Ohana i would get the earliest seating available and you might miss some of the campfire..as i recall first it's a sing along with chip and dale then a movie( we were late last time so i am guessing this is the same from previous yrs). at one time they had a 9 ish hayride ( it was after the first hddr) but don't know if that is still the case and you could see the electric water parade from the beach at fw( if that is still running). we really enjoyed all these things as they are a change of pace from normal disney things, a little more laid back and relaxing to me.

so i'd skip Ohana and stick to FW.

however if you go to Ohana you can take the boat or mono to mk and transfer to the boat to fw there or continue on the mono to the contemp . and take a boat to fw from the conte. dock. either is pretty easy.personally i actually think i might go via mono to the cont. as you can ask for a boat to take you to fw and maybe won't have to wait as long as mk might be closing around the time you are getting there. it probably would take close to an hr worst case due to waits for various vehicles

As others have stated, Trail's End isn't fancy. However, there's plenty to choose from and it's SO much more convenient to your plans. I'd go with Trail's End and save 'Ohana for another trip. As long as there are things you haven't checked off your to-do list it gives you a reason to go back. ;)

Thanks, I'm sold. We'll keep TE. I was looking for a more relaxed night for the girls so the campfire appealed to me. Thanks so much for the help...
