Hi,

We are taking a cruise (RCI Sovereign of the Seas) out of Port Carnaveral this year for our March Break Vacation. I might be able to squeeze 1 day (may not even be a full day) in Orlando either pre or post cruise. I am looking at 3 options. Please let me know what you think.

Option 1: Walt Disney World
We have some park hopper tickets that still have 1 park day and 3 pluses. I thought we could go to one of the WDW water parks and then have dinner at one of the non-park restaurants (Ohanas is our favortie) followed by some time at downtown disney.

Option 2
We have not been to Seaworld since our honeymoon trip. We have always wanted to take the kids but never had enough time. We could do that followed by a nice dinner in Orlando. Any restaurant suggestions?

Option 3
Skip Orlando all together and take our time driving to Port Canaveral visit the Space center and book at the Radisson or other nice hotel with a pool and let the kids play and relax in the warm weather before getting on the cruise.

Another decision we have to make if we do this pre cruise (most likely) should we plan to spend the night in Orlando or Port Canaveral. We will board our ship around noon so either option will work. It will probably cost less in Orlando so again that is what I am leaning towards.

Please let me know what you think.

I would stay at Disney's HHI Resort:), and have a wonderful, relaxing - but little taste of Disney :teeth: - start to your vacation:)...THEN....

Take a leisurely drive to Disney's Vero Beach, and stay there pre-cruise..check out in the am, and head to port:)

Renting points would keep the $$ down:)

But SeaWorld would be fun too....;);)

Aren't vacation decisions fun!! LOL :teeth:

We lived on Hilton Head Island for a year so I really don't want to go there for just 1 day. Besides the Disney property on Hilton Head is not in a great location it is basically located in the middle of a swamp, they do have a beach house on the ocean and I think they offer shuttles but it would not be very convenient for such a short trip. As we will probably be flying into Orlando it is really not an option for this trip. I also don't want to go to Vero Beach, the cruise is our main vacation I am just looking to extend our vacation by a day in Orlando.

Thanks for the suggestions and I am sure they would be great for another trip.

Then I think we would definitley do Option 1 or 2...with preference to Option 2:)

*But*, we've never been to SeaWorld either, and am wondering if one day would be "enough"..KWIM?

How old are your kids?
The water parks are ALWAYS a hit with our two 7 year olds!!:) (and it kind of reads like that is the plan that you would really like! LOL!! :goodvibes )

You are right, it is what I want to do but I have to convince DH ;). Though we really did enjoy Seaworld and I think the kids would like it too. It is just that we would have to buy tickets where as we already have 3 out of 4 tickets for the WDW water park. The kids are 6 & 8 so either option is good for them. DS loves Killer Whales they are his favorite animals on the other hand he also loves the water and especially water slides. I really think they would have more "fun" at the water parks. And this could all fall apart if MIL & FIL decide to join us we will probably end up at Kennedy Space Centre, which i think the kids would also like (just not as much as the water parks.)

If you can only squeeze in one day or only part of a day I would do option 3, Skip Orlando all together and take your time driving to Port Canaveral and spend some time at different places along the way.

Have fun

Angela
