This is the first trip where money is an issue for us. Before this we just booked it. Ah the good old days. Anyway we are renting points for a stay at the BWVs but we want to stay one night at another resort, preferrably the WL. The cheapest room rate we could get was $295 for the night. I just couldn't see booking that and having to find that in our budget.
I went ahead and booked the POFQ at $166. Once I pay this off I have debated calling back and switching to the WL and paying off the difference.

SO should I:

A) switch to the WL after paying the $166
B) stay at the FQ(which I love BTW)
OR
C) wait until discounts come out and hope for a WL discount and switch then.

I guess I am worried that since we only have one night left I don't want to be far away from the parks. Ease of transpo and staying somewhere new is soooo tempting! I am soooo torn. I liked these decisions better 5 years ago!

Just one night?

I'm inclined to say leave your ressie as is. We've paid less than $200 per night at WL--and nearly $300 is pretty steep for an overnight.

Unless you have an AP I wouldn't count on a discount since there haven't been any general discounts yet. If it was me I'd probably go ahead and book FQ and see if my budget allowed for switch to WL later. $300 a night is a lot to me for just spending the night somewhere though. If I was going to spend the day hanging out there it might be different.

Leave it alone. Money is, as you say, an issue. Use the difference for a good meal. It's just the one night and a chance to experience a resort you might not otherwise get to experience. Although, I should add, that the POR has more of a deluxe feel. There is no restaurant at the PFQ, if that is important to you. I only mention it because my cousin, who likes deluxe resorts, was surprised by this.

I too would leave it alone and depending on how tight the budget is maybe do a value since its just one night.
