DH and I are flying in 10.13.04 (Wednesday night) into Orlando. We wanted to do this flight rather than get up very early Thursday. Since we are flying Jet Blue they only have 3 flights each day. We get in around 10:30pm and were planning on staying at the Hyatt in MCO. The price is $179 + tax for the night though.

I was looking at the Universal hotels and can get the Hard Rock Hotel for $124 + tax (pool view) for the night. We are planning on spending a day at Universal and IOA and then attending Halloween Horror Nights. We were going to do Sunday the 17th though.

Anyway, here is my delema- we are staying Poly GV concierge on the 7 for 4 deal. If we do Universal on the 14th we would not check in until about 12am (after HHN) at the Poly! We will miss the special check in desk but I am sure it won't be too busy at the main desk then anyway. I am just wondering if it is worth missing a day of concierge (14th) to get the cheaper hotel rate and front of the line access all day at Universal. We got the 7 for 4 package so it is still a good deal, but I don't want to miss a good room chance and all the treats:) If we just stayed at the Hyatt we could still use Poly concierge Sunday morning before we head to Universal.

What would you guys do? Another option is to just stay at the Poly the night of the 13th non concierge but we will probably have to switch rooms.

of your choices, I'd stay at the airport. You'll be dog tired and its probably worth the few bucks for convenience. and you'll save on transfers.

I wouldn't switch all your days around either, unless youre really desperate to try that hotel.

If you dont want to stay at the airport, then I would go stay at one of the all-stars. Its very inexpensive and only one night. It wont mess up your plans AND Disney will move all your luggage over to the poly for you while you play.

I would do a Disney value resort for that first night, and have them transfer all your luggage to the Poly for you that next morning. ;)

As for US/IOA... I would add it at the end of the trip after you're all done at the Poly, and stay at one of the Universal resorts for FOTL access and HHN. :)

I would love to add a night or 2 on at the end of our trip for Universal but we are doing the 3 night Disney cruise after WDW so we have to be back at work Monday:) Maybe I will just keep it as is.

If I were going to Universal, I would definitely do HRH for the Front of the Line Access it provides. We stayed at HRH a couple years ago, and the FOTL and view of the park (which you get with pool view) was worth the price of the room, IMO!!:teeth:

I would DEFINITELY go with HRH. First of all it's a great hotel - but I'm telling you - NOTHING beats that FOTL access. You won't regret it. We've stayed at HRH and Royal Pacific and loved them both.

Thanks guys! I think I will hold the HRH for the 13th and take some time to decide:)

I read somewhere that you can now pay extra for FOTL but I don't know if that's true. I hope not because I think it would hurt the resorts.

You can buy some sort of FOTL passes - like a booklet. They've had that for a while though and it hasn't hurt the hotel guests - it might not be so good for the day guests without them though!

Yes, that is the other thing I was thinking of-Express Pass Plus. If we just went to Universal/IOA on Sunday I would buy the booklet. I think it is $15pp and you get an Express Pass for each ride (once.) For both parks it is $20pp.
