Which would you do?

A. Tues, Feb 3 -- (arrival day) -- check into AKL around 3:00, explore the resort for an hour or so, then head to MK for dinner at LTT and Spectro/Wishes. (Fast Forward) Sat, Feb 7 -- 8:00 PS at Donald's, stay at AK through the 4:00 parade, then dinner at Boma and mini golf.

B. Tues, Feb 3 -- arrival day -- rest, explore, dinner and mini golf. Sat, Feb 7 -- 8:00 PS at Donalds, stay at AK thru the 4:00 parade, hop to MK, grab a quick bite at Pecos Bill's and see Spectro/Wishes.

It will be me, DH, DS 10, DS 9, and DD 1 1/2. We have 7 day PHP's. The rest of our trip looks like this:
Tues - arrival day / ???
Wed - MK
Thurs - Epcot / Illuminations
Fri - non-park day
Sat - AK / ???
Sun - non-park day
Mon - MGM / Fantasmic
Tues - DQ/Cirque
Wed - MK
Thurs - departure day

Wow! I'm the first vote! I've never been the first vote! :teeth:

Anyhoo...to be honest, I mainly said "A" because I loved dinner at Boma when I went last year! Also, I think MK the first night (especially with the fireworks) would be a great way to kickoff your stay.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a great time!

I'm cheap with my PHP. I figure they can always be used for another day/trip so I don't use them for partial days. I would explore the resort and than a dinner over by MK. Either Chef Mickey or Whispering Canyon. Than you can take in the Electric Water Parade with the Castle in the Background. You might also consider the FREE campfire/sing-along with Chip and Dale at Fort Wilderness.

P.S. I love AKL, depending on your boys personalities, they are a great age for the hidden mickey hunt the resort has and that will certainly get them moving around.

Thanks for your votes, replies, and suggestions! Sometimes it's easier to have someone else make up your mind for you...LOL :teeth:

It looks like "A" is the winner so far anyway!

InstImpres: I think my boys would like to do a hidden Mickey hunt, do I inquire about it at the front desk? (I assume there is a check-off list or something?) Thank you for the suggestion!

:D

What a great way to start off a WDW vacation! Explore the AKL for a little bit and then go to MK for dinner and see Spectro/Wishes. Wish I could go!

Yes just ask front desk or guest services. I know Wilderness Lodge has one too! You really have to concentrate, we haven't found them all yet!

Well, I would actually choose "B" in order to get the most time out of the days on my PHP. I'd hate to use up one day when I wouldn't be in a park for much time. Now if you had an annual pass, then I would vote for "A". JMHO.

Whatever you decide, have a great time! :D

I vote B because I am concerned that there might not be Spectro/FITS on a Tuesday night at MK but it's almost always on Sat. night.

I picked Spectro then AK and mini golf sat but I would think you might be tired after AK. Why not mini golf a non park day??
I always like to hit the parks the day I get in but the other posters are right in that you are wasting a ph day with just going for Spectro.
So now I think I need to change my vote, lol.

Wow! Thanks for all the great responses!
I was a bit concerned about using up a day on our passes, but figured that overall this is such an expensive vacation that if it worked out that way, then so be it!
The February calendar is up, and Spectro IS scheduled for Tuesday and Saturday. That is why I'm not sure what to do now. I originally thought it would be Saturday only, and not wanting to fight crowds, we were going to skip it. Then I read so many rave reviews (we've never seen it) that I think we WOULD like to see it.
As far as the mini golf, it's just an idea. We would skip it if we were too tired or if the weather was bad. I do want to try my best to have things planned for evenings, though. My boys will drive everyone crazy if we have to spend too much time in the room, and I doubt that evening weather will be good for swimming, not even with our thick northern skin...LOL
If we get too tired, we can always take a break. I'm not PLANNING on breaks, but if we need one, we'll take it. Besides, we have Friday and Sunday to "rest up."
Thanks again!

"A" is still winning, but "B" has gained some...

...anyone else have an opinion before I make PS's? :wave2:

As a novice, you would think that I wouldn't have an opinion on this! However, my extensive research would suggest that Tuesday Spectro will be less crowded than a Sat. Spectro. for those of you with more experience (which is basically everyone! ) is this true?
