I'm attending a conference in November in Orlando. My plan was to stay a couple extra days & do a mini solo trip. My conference admission includes a private event Sunday night at Universal from 7:30 - 10:30. I've never been. I was going to hit DHS Sunday morning & afternoon then go to Universal. And then rope drop through Wishes at MK on Monday. My flight home is Tuesday. I have 2 comp tickets from my FIL, a retired CM, so no cost, yay! Today I was doing a little dreaming. Was excited to find early EMH for DHS on Sunday. Probably not needed, but nice. Then I tabbed over to Monday, hopeful for EMH at MK. Nope, not even close. Park hours 9-7, closing for MVMCP. UGH! Our last 3 trips have been at Christmas time. I'm over it. I want to enjoy Wishes (not to mention, the party tickets are $86 ). My choices are continue with plans, missing Wishes or swap days, missing Universal. Is 3 hours worth it. What would you do?

I would definitely do the private event at Universal and experience something new under ideal circumstances of a private party.

That is an ideal circumstance. Thanks! It is the National Association of Realtors. Wish I knew how many of us there'll be!

I agree with PP. Definitely attend the private Event at Universal. That may never happen again. Save up for a party ticket, the fireworks are very nice at the MVMCP.

Leaning towards private event. Agree, party IS cool. But I don't think I need to see it alone, and this would make 4th time. Perhaps some Disney Springs.

Definitely do the private Universal event! We have done MVMCP several times and will not do again; price keeps going up and last year the parade was very disappointing. Disney Springs has changed a lot recently; many new stores and eating spots.

I would do the private event. On MK day maybe book a dinner at a monorail resort and enjoy the fireworks from outside the park? That's what we are doing next time, as we do not want to pay for the party again.

That's what I was going to suggest. Do MK open to close, then enjoy Wishes from a monorail resort. Dinner for one at California Grill will be cheaper than party tickets, and the view is great.
