Seems our itinerary for Hollywood studios is allowing 2 and half hours of "free" time. We are there for RD only for RnRC and ending with F!....As of right now not too many choices for dining so we will do QS. We are seeing nearly every show. What can we do/see thats NOT necessarily entertainment or a ride? Mid November trip.

If you really do have that much time and don't receive any suggestions that appeal to you in the park, I highly recommend going out of the park, hopping on a friendship boat, and having your QS meal at the Boardwalk Bakery, then walk around there. It's a lovely break. Then just walk or take the boat back.

Is the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground still open? Don't know if you have kids or ages, but mine loved it when we last visited and spent easily an hour there.

I second the playground suggestion if you have kids. My girls had to be dragged out of there, and we actually ended up missing F! because we were in there so long and it was standing room only by the time we hustled across the park.

I think that DHS is more of a half day park right now. If you have hoppers I would hit another park for a bit and then go back for F!. If you do not, I would take some time to explore the BW area and then go back for F!.

Depending on when you go in November you may be able to hit certain rides more than once, Star Tours is one that we can usually walk straight back on at certain times in November.
As per the poster above, the boat to the Boardwalk or Epcot is also an option if you've done as much as you can do at the Studios.
Whatever you decide, have a great trip.

I love DHS but would be very bored trying to do rope drop to closing there. I would keep trying to get a TS ADR to take up some time - Sci Fi and 50s Prime Time are two of the best themed restaurants on property IMO so worth the effort of searching for an ADR. If you can't get one, you can take the boat over to the Boardwalk and eat at ESPN Club with no ADR necessary, and then stroll through the Beach Club and maybe stopping at the to go window at Beaches & Cream. We would probably just plan to leave late morning to go back to the resort and relax for a few hours, before heading back for Fantasmic.

Also in the Boardwalk BC YC area is the ESPN club or maybe Beaches and Cream for a TS meal. Both fun places. And there is an arcade at the Beach Club.

I'm so glad I read this, because I have a 2pm rez at 50s and would like to stay until Fantasmic, but didn't know how we would fill the day. We didn't get Hoppers so that's a GREAT idea about the boat to the Boardwalk! I think maybe after lunch we'll plan on this ... play some games, do some shopping, then take the boat back a little later on.

I can't remember the last time I did HS from rope drop to F!. If we go there at rope drop, we are usually out by 1pm. I would use my first 3 FP+ in the morning, then make a 4th for when we return later. You could hop to a different park, go back to resort for pool break, play mini-golf, have dinner at a resort. I do like the idea of exploring the Boardwalk area and other resorts Beach and Yacht Clubs, Swan, Dolphin and having dinner somewhere.

Sadly DHS is really more of a half day park anymore. I would go over to Epcot and come back for F!.

My $0.02.... Maybe for people who have been there multiple times before, and have already seen all the shows, but it is certainly not a half day park for anyone else. It is impossible to see all the shows in half a day, and extremely difficult, if not impossible in a full day. Add the rides on top of that, easily a full day.

I have 2 small children (DS4 & DD2), and I planned an ADR for breakfast at Hollywood and Vine to catch the Disney Jr characters, and then a late lunch ADR at Sci-Fi since my DH loves it. I figure if I didn't have those 2, I would probably have done a mid-day break or hopped to another park since I would not have enough to cover a full day. The BC idea I think is a wonderful back-up plan that I am going to use if we get through the park too quickly too.

I've been trying for TS at HS since the beginning of time!!! I keep checking, that being said, I love the idea of the boat to Boardwalk. We've not been that way. If it weren't for the dang tiering we would be showing up late morning....

I would suggest trying for an ADR at one of the resort restaurants at Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk. It will be a nice break from the park, then you can go back for F!

It is really hard to try and stretch DHS into a full day. I just do it and will take a resort break midday before returning to DHS. I plan on being there for rope drop, head back to the resort around noon and head back for our 6pm 50's PT adr and see Osbourne Lights after. It is less exhausting that way also.

Ride Star Tours over and over and over and over until everyone in your party has been The Rebel Spy.

we rode it 12 times because we wanted to see all the worlds at least twice. we had an awesome time running around and around doing it over and over and over.
