Our 8 mth old has been waking up at least 3 times a night for the last 6 weeks. He has had 2 double ear infections during this time, so that may be part of the problem

Anyway, we are currently scheduled to go to WDW 12/6-12/12 staying at Bay Lake Tower in a studio. We are thinking it might be better to stay in a 1 bedroom, but we would have to move the vacation back one week to 12/13-12/19 and move our resort to Animal Kingdom

pretty much wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and could offer any pros/cons?:confused3

I still get up with my 4 year old 2-3 times per night. Are you saying you would let LO just cry? Or would you go to the child. If you go to the child what does it matter if you have separate rooms? It isn't too nice to leave a baby crying for others in the hotel to wake up by (had this happen to me once the child kept me and my kids awake until 5 am)

Also I would never change contemporary for akl (personal preference) also the later week will prob have higher clouds.

I'm not sure what you are asking exactly. I think I would stay with the studio at BLT. Hopefully, your child's health will improve before your trip.

We don't let the baby cry it out. I'm just thinking that the extra room would allow him a separate space to nap in the afternoon, and if he has a really bad day and we stay at the hotel, he would have more room to play

I would stick with your original plans. Being a monorail ride from MK is amazing with a little one. More room is not really going to help her sleep better. What are the plans for her sleeping arrangements? Does she sleep with you guys? In a regular crib? Maybe renting a full size crib if she is used to that might help. Of course she may well end up in bed with you being a new place and recovering from ear issues. Hopefully she will be all better and sleep like an angel!

I think I too would stick with the original plans for two reasons. #1 BLT is not only a monorail ride away from MK but it is also a short WALK away. Cranky baby + stroller ride outside = nap....at least for my kids it has worked that way ;) it'd be easy to go back and forth if needed. AKL is only close to AK, strollers on buses are common but that isn't to say it is fun. Imagine baby falling asleep in the stroller and needing to take them out to fold up the stroller for a bus ride.
#2 it will be much less crowded during the first two weeks of December, after that it gets more crowded.

We've stayed at AKL for our last trip and would never stay there again. It's a beautiful resort and a different experience than our usual value stays...there was more we liked about the values though. I would stay at BLT due to the proximity to MK. Hope your little one gets better soon. Are you breastfeeding? If so, squirt some breastmilk in his ear....clears it right up due to the antibiotic properties. Just FYI.

Thank you everyone. We did decide to just keep the original plans

He currently sleeps in his own crib in his room, so we are going to look into renting a real crib. or if worse comes to worse, he will sleep with mommy and daddy will get the pull-out couch :rotfl:
