Hello DIS'ers! I have previously posted that our annual trip for DBF and I, we are taking his Grandma, and now his 7 year old cousin! I made all ressies for 3 adults, but yesterday i switched everything to add the child on to the ressie, BUT of course Le Cellier, and Coral Reef do not have any more availabillity :scared1: Le Cellier is DBF and I's favorite resturant and i know the little guy would love the fish at coral reef, so my question is, What would you do? Would you just show up with the additional person, or what?

Did you call or try and do this online? I don't see why they would let you add 1 and not the other. The tables would fit 4 people, I don't remember any wierd shaped 3 person table. Call and explain the add on child to the dining number to see if they can help.

I would show up for the ADR that you already have and very politely ask if there is any way that you could be seated with the extra person. Most tables for 3 will fit 4. Just be willing to graciously accept their answer. Seems like you have nothing to lose. (If you are going to be on the DDP you should probably make an alternative ADR so you don't waste the meal credit.)

maddiesmom, Apparently the reason for the difficulty adding on is not the table size, but the number of guests inside the resturant due to the fire codes. Because that was the first thing i asked!! I said, wouldnt we be seated at a 4 person table?? I may just go ahead and like the OP said politely ask if we could add a child, I would be devestated if we did not get to eat at Le Cellier! Have any of you ever did this??

You can just show up with the exta person, but be prepared to have the extra person turned away. Especially at LeCellier.

What I would do is make dinner ressies somewhere else for 2 and you and your DBF eat at LC, while the other 2 dine somewhere else. Just split up for dinner and meet back up. That way DBF doesn't miss his favorite.

Yeah, I'd probably show up with the child and take my chances. Really, the worst that could happen is that you might have to wait a little longer for a table if the reason for the refusal is the fire code. I'm sure that some posters will flame me for that (ha - flame...fire code), but honestly, it doesn't hurt to ask. When is your trip? Even if it's during a busy period, don't count out walk-ups or reservations the day of. Last week, people were still being seated (even at LeCellier for lunch) without ADR's...Touring Plans had the crowd levels listed as 9 & 10. So...there's always hope. :goodvibes

I would also just show up (keep trying for an opening for 4 but don't cancel the ones you have for 3 just in case). You will have the same table size anyway and has anyone personally been turned away at the podium for the fire code issue (or is it a dis legend)? There are so many that show up with less people that I'm sure it all evens out.

Yeah, that last part is the rub... If they allow enough parties in that are smaller than their reservation size to offset those showing up with more (as well as the walk-ups), then they will be able to get in their one extra. At this point, though, the places are booked to capacity on paper. They won't know if there is open availability until the actual moment they arrive.

If it's that important to eat there, I agree with the previous posters who suggested booking a couple back-up reservations for two, so that you can split into two groups, if necessary.

just show up and say the party changed/ was booked wrong

that only happens about 15 times at every meal period at every WDW restaurant.

there won't be a problem

Why not split up? Have nana take the little guy to Coral Reef for that meal while you two do something else, and you guys keep LeCellier while they do something else. A little "apart time" might do you all some good.

There's plenty of great counter service options at Epcot for the ones not eating table-service meals.

I would tend to agree with you, if we were not talking about Le Ceiller. Le Ceiller is known for being booked to capacity. And as it is such a small restaurant to begin with, there is an even smaller chance of being able to just add another person to an ADR.

OP--Keep trying to change your ADR to the correct number of people. If that dosn't work, show up early for your ADR and hope for the best. But be prepared to be disappointed.

If you wouldn't mind lunch at Le Ceiller, you can always show up right when they open and see if they can seat you. I have done that before, and it worked out for me.:)
