Ok here we go....

Our friends are going on an Alaska cruise this fall with a group through a travel agency. It is a large group of 200-400 gay and lesbians. The ship holds 1400 people.
The issue is : Travel agent with gay group price is $550 per person
Booking with cruiseline and or other travel sites: $800 each
That is $500 savings....

The debate is my husband and I want to go too, but we want to save money. Is it ok for us to book through the travel agency and get the discounted group rate?
Our friends say it is cause we are going and spending time with them..and noone cares they are all on vacation!!

opinions please

LOL interesting....
i have a few Bi friends that are into all kinds of "different" things.. lol
at first my husband was uncomfy with them..
i took him to a new years eve party with them. i let him bring a case of beer.. he totally relaxed!
i would go on vacation with them in a heartbeat.. a true friend wouldnt push their beliefs or sexual preferences on you :)
good luck LOL

Of course its ok to book with the agency. It's just a group booking - not a political statement.

I don't sing and my dad had a group cruise for Barbershop Singers - I went and paid the group rate.

My husband is not the CLass of whatever but his sister is and we paid the group rate for their cruise.

It's not like you looked for a group booking to make it cheaper...you have friends in the group and want to travel with them.

I'd do it! I assume that you are wondering if it's ok, since you are not gay to use the rate? Well, I'd just ask the organizor. If it's just a 'group' rate, based simply on getting a large group to go and open to anyone, great! But, if they say it's for gays only - well, you get what I'm saying. But, I bet it's just a group rate and you're welcome to it too! Yeah for you! (I"m very jealous - have always wanted to go to Alaska!)

:rotfl: you know... i wouldnt expect gays or lesbians to be "discrimating against anyone" lol

BINGO!!! that was exactly what I was asking!!! Thank you:worship:

I have an email to them to see if it is for "gays only"!!! thanks for the idea!!If it is a group booking we are 90% sure we will book, pending flights. We could care less if it was a quilters group or retired military or whatever, if we had friends going and were invited we would try to go!!!

Good luck!:thumbsup2 I hope it all works out!:goodvibes

I don't see why you couldn't book with them. Is it a gay cruise only or just a group of gay people going on a regular cruise? Would they even ask you if you were gay? I think it would be discriminatory if they didn't let you book because you weren't "gay" unless it was specifically a gay cruise. Even then I think it would be discriminatory not to let you book.
I would go for it.

I wouldn't think twice about paying the group rate since your friends are going with the group. Enjoy your cruise!
