Hi All-

I need some advice. We're headed to WDW next September with me, dh, dd(7), and dd(3). This will be our last trip as a foursome - any trips after this one will be with our newest daughter so we become the "Family of 5!" With all of the limited resort options it entails! :)

Anyway, we've been to WDW lots of times and stayed at lots of places. Our top two choices for the next trip are WL or YC. We have stayed at the WL before, as well as the Beach Club (never the YC.) The difference in price is in the neighborhood of $400 - manageable. Also, if we stay at YC I will not buy water park passes as we will have access to Storm Along Bay. Both resorts are in a great location. Both are beautiful.

Which would you choose? Why?

with a 7 or 3 years I would go for WL or polyn - with kids that age you will spend the majority of your time at the MK anyway. So easy access to this theme park is needed.

with the Polyn you also get easy access to Epcot with the monrail. You can walk to the TTC and get the monrail from the Polyn.

I agree with spiceycat. I would pick the resort closest to the parks I intend to frequent more. With young children, you'll appreciate being just a monorail ride away from MK. My kids are 13 & 11 and they just love Epcot - we usually end the majority of our days there - that's why we now always stay at the BW! Love the easy walk back at park closing!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the advice. We've done the Poly before and will go again, but not this trip. Being it sleeps 5 in a standard room we are saving it. This time we're trying to hit a resort which we'd only be able to get a deluxe or a suite if we had all 5 of us.

Maybe you should consider renting points for Beach Club Villas. You would have a lot more space for a family of 5. You could also rent at the other DVC resorts, but BCV and BWV would be closer to Epcot or Wilderness Lodge Villas for closer proximity to Magic Kingdom. Good Luck.

Don't you wish this was the hardest choice you'll ever have to make? You can't
go wrong with either. Enjoy and congrats on your eventual new addition.:goodvibes

I think the YC rooms sleep 5 in a standard room so I would choose the WL for your trip this time. It will be difficult to stay there after your youngest turns three

then definitely go with WL.

WL and AKL are the only deluxe resorts that only 4 can sleep.

all the other deluxes can sleep 5.

I would stay at the YC for the convenience to Epcot and MGM.
My DD's 2 and 6 LOVE those parks, and the time saved on walking and would be great.
ALso, all my kids just like the whole location/atmosphere at YC better than they liked the WL. They love the Boardwalk entertainment, and being able to see the fireworks from the area, and the cheesefries got 'em everytime!
Have a great trip, and congrats!

First of all congratulations! Since you will have one in a pnp the most important things should be sq footage and a balcony. I think both of those resorts have decent sized rooms and a balcony. Next is transportation, I am a MK girl as are my kids and dh so proximity to MK is a must. I didn't really like all the stops for the EPCOT area hotels when we visited BC. It really took alot of time out of our day. So that being said since you know you like WL and it will be hard to stay there when that little princess gets bigger I would get a bunk bed room at WL for the conveince to MK and extra sq footage with the bunk beds.
