Hi,
I booked our flights in April for June 2007 and today we had a phone call saying that Monarch are no longer flying from Newcastle on Thursdays. They said we could change to the Saturday ( at no extra cost) or get a refund on our deposit. We have already booked our villa privately but think we can change the days ok. However, I have found flights with Globespan which work out around £500 cheaper than the ones we originally booked. I haven't flown with Globespan before but on paper looks pretty much the same as Monarch. What would you do, keep the original booking or go for the cheaper Globespan flights? :confused3

The other question I have - we have also hired a 12 seater mini-van through the same company which is costing us £478 (all inclusive cover for 2wks) and wondered if anyone knew if this was a good price for this?

Regarding the mini-van, I just looked at a couple of my fav sites and you have beaten both thier quotes, so I'd say you've got a pretty good deal there.
If it was me, I would save the money on the flights and have more spending money :goodvibes

I'll agree with claire, its not like you're being asked to go from BA first class to charter economy so go with globespan and save £500. Think of all the extras you can do for that... hot air balloons or discovery cove for instance

I don't know what Globespan are like but Monarch are dreadful, so if you can ditch them and save money as well, I'd do it.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies.
I thought i'd give you an update - I phoned the agent I booked the flights with and told them I wanted a refund as I had managed to get cheaper flights with Flyglobespan. They said they have just signed a contract with flyglobespan and they are going to see "what they can do for me". Hopefully, it will be good news :)

Insist they look into it ASAP, the cheaper price you found may have been a lead in price - it may not be there for long!

I booked a van with Hertz. It was a 7 person mini van for 16 days prepaid was £418.72, so your rate sounds pretty good for a 12 seater.

Hope you get your deposit back! Your rate for your 12 seater is excellent,I've just check with the company we are going with this year, who were by far the cheapest we found & you've beaten them by £300!!
SD :thumbsup2
