What would you do your first day if you were me?

If all goes as planned, we will arrive at airport on a Tuesday in October around 10:30 am. Taking Magical Express and going to Beach Club.

My only plans for the day are reservations at Via Napoli at 7:45.

Soo, what to do? We are there 9 nights, have park hoppers, just two adults.

I thought either check in, then (room ready or not) Downtown Disney for lunch/walking around(bus there), then take boat ride to POR, look around there and then catch bus to Epcot. Maybe ride a couple rides and then head to dinner. If room wasn't ready when we arrived, then probably wouldn't see room until after dinner at Via Napoli.

Or check in, lunch at Boardwalk Bakery, see if room is ready, then go to Epcot for rest of afternoon/evening.

Or??? Suggestions welcome! :p The only thing I don't want to do is go swimming the first day.

I love hitting up DTD on my first day and getting an idea of what I want to purchase (what the deals are, etc.) I also like to grab snacks from Goofy's and a sandwich or two from Earl and put them in my fridge for later in the week. However, that part would require you to go back to your room before you go to Epcot for dinner.

I think either of your two plans would be okay. Unless we arrive super early on a red-eye flight, we prefer our first day to be a relaxing one, just getting settled and into the groove. The only thing I might think more about is all the traveling around involved in your first plan, so maybe plan two would be better. It would also keep you in the area should your room become available sooner than expected.

That sounds good. I just figured since the bus from POR would take us to Epcot front entrance, we could just hit some rides on our way to dinner. :)

That was my thought too about my first plan. But then I thought the boat ride back to POR would be relaxing...but then I would be wondering what my room was like if I waited until after dinner! :rotfl:

Decisions, decisions....

Is Food and Wine Festival going on when you are there? We are going in November and our first day there is the last day of Food and Wine. We arrive around 10:30 am and are heading straight to Epcot from Wilderness Lodge and we are just going to wander through the World Showcase sampling the food and drink. We are not planning on any rides (except maybe a fast pass for Maelstrom) and no dinner reservations just snacking and browsing through the shops. We will catch Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and then Illuminations. I think it will be a fun relaxing first day.

Food and Wine will be in full force. Lunch at the kiosks at Epcot sounds like a good idea. You are arriving on a Tuesday. Maybe shuffle your plans for DTD for another day and just go to Epcot and enjoy. I understand about the room issue, you will be entering it for the first time after dinner if it's not ready. Why not make some FP+ ressies for Epcot before dinner and play it by ear for where you go based on if your room is available upon arrival?

We stay at the beach club too, and always go to Epcot the first day. After all the travel its nice to not have to take more transportation, and just walk over to Epcot. I think lunch at the bakery then Epcot sounds like a good plan. Then maybe dessert at the bakery after.

Thanks all!

Yes food and wine is happening!:hyper: We plan to take full advantage of our hoppers and location the whole trip. The first day though we want dinner at Via Napoli, so we will look at the kiosks and map out our food endeavors for the week. :rotfl: I'm betting we will do Epcot first day, but if room is ready when we get there, I'm so tempted to do DTD because we always skip it.

My boyfriend said to let's just play it by ear, but I'm still open to suggestions from everybody. I like to plan, then change the plan, finalize the plan, and then do something completely different. :duck:;)

If staying at Beach Club, I would definitely go to Epcot, probably as soon as I could get there!

I wouldn't want to use a ticket just for a dinner. So, I would probably explore the resort first, then when ready head over to Epcot in the afternoon and explore for a bit (maybe take a more leisurely pace) before dinner.

I would head to Epcot. Maybe do a few rides and check out the F&W kiosks for lunch. I am not the biggest DTD fan though.
