For about the same price, we can stay at a cabin, 2 moderate rooms or All Star family suite (pay to upgrade to regular dining). Our family is mom, dad and 4 teens - any feedback?

I'd go with the cabin or 2 rooms at a Moderate or 2 rooms at a Value. We go with 2 rooms at a Value, we're a family of 7. We like the two bathrooms and really we're only there in the room to rest a bit, shower, sleep....etc. Two rooms at a Moderate would also get you 2 bathrooms (with all those teens it's a good thing LOL) and you'd have a bit more space. The cabins are nice, but with the dining plan....you don't really need a full kitchenette? The bedrooms are kind of layed out funny too....but again, the cabins are nice and if you've not stayed there before I'm sure it would be a neat experience.

I would get 2 rooms at a value and upgrade the dining plan.
I can't imagine the suites at All-Star Music being comfortable for 4 teens. 2 would have to sleep on the little pull out couch together and the other 2 would each get their own pull out chair.

If you prefer to stay at a moderate then I would get 2 rooms at a moderate.

If you plan on being out at the parks all day/everyday then I would go with the value, as it's the cheapest option.

I really would like the 2 bathrooms and was also a little worried about the pullouts. What are the chances of getting adjoining rooms? One of the teens is a boy so that's awkward with two double beds! And since they are all considered adults, I was afraid of the $10 per day surcharge - anyone know how that works?

If there under 18 they are considered juniors. Not adults.

unfortunately they are 18, 19, 20 and 21! So they might not even put us in adjoining rooms then, right?

I wouldn't stay in a cabin with 6 full sized adults.

The bedroom has a full size bed and a bunk bed. The living room has a murphy bed that's also full sized.

You folks will be on top of each other unless you're all small people.

I'll call tonight - what is the policy about adjoining rooms? I don't want to be a different building or area than my kids even if they are teens!

If you are wanting something different than Value, but like the idea of one room and/or don't want to take the risk about the possibility of not having adjoining or connecting rooms, how about a jr suite at CSR. It may be getting too far out of the pricing you are looking at like the suites at ASMu, they are more than twice the price of a standard room.($350 in value season)

Adjoining/Connecting rooms are a request, they do not guarantee them. While it seems like a no brainer that there should atleast be adjoining rooms, you are also trying to have two rooms open up side by side at the same time. Also according to several posts on here, you wouldn't be considered a priority for having your request met. Usually these requests are met, but there is the occasional poster who didn't get it.

Thanks, Beth. Can you give me any layout of the junior suites? Two baths? There aren't many options for larger families with a budget so I'm open to any ideas!

I think it is very similar to the asmu suites. There are atleast some that have a murphy bed rather than a pull out couch. When I was posting about it the other day what I found suggested that some how the pull out and some have the murphy, so I guess no guarantee.

I found this linked through a dis thread from 2006

I'm not seeing anything about the pull out chairs; don't know if they have them.

As a family of 7 we always ask for connecting rooms, all of our children are under 18 though. We've always been told it won't be a problem, and it has only been an issue one year and they quickly fixed it when they saw it was 5 children and 2 adults. Last year when I called to add my MIL they said that now since there were 3 adults that we were not guaranteed connecting rooms but they'd do all they could to try and accomodate us with that request. So if your children are 'adults' I wouldn't count on connecting rooms....but I'm sure they could find you adjoining (same building, probably same floor...etc).

I wish they had more choices for larger families as well, we're actually thinking of just buying a camper next year because as the family keeps growing our resort choices shrink LOL
