Bouncing back and forth on which lodging choice to make. We are taking my dd's (ages 13 and 7 at time of trip) to WDW in Feb. Which resort would you choose? Pop Century or pay a little more for Caribbean Beach resort? We have also been looking at the allstars movie resort as well.

I think the only advantage to doing carribean is if you plan on spending time at the resort. The only advantage the rooms have is more bathroom space. The decor and pools are normally nicer at the mods then at the values, but if you don't plan on spending much time at the resorts, it doesn't really matter how nice the pool is in my opinion. Hope this isn't confusing and happy planning!!!

I've never stayed at CBR but have stayed once at ASM and over 12 times at POP...I can't say enough about POP, its obviously a favorite of mine but I would save the money and stay at one of the values

I stayed at POP last year with DS11 and we loved it there. We weren't in the room often, and never went in the pool, but it is nicely themed, has a nice food court and the BEST bus service. Direct service, and only one bus stop. They would pick us up and we'd go right to the park, not 4 stops first. We also never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus (except one day when there was a bomb scare and the buses were all stopped for several hours).

I also read that they are undergoing a refurbishment and now have flatscreen tvs.

We stayed at CBR when ds was 5 and we loved it! It was so lush and quiet...it was wonderful to come back to our soothing room after a long day at the park. When we came back part way through the day, to rest up before our dinner and night time outings, ds enjoyed playing on the sandy beaches and making sand castles. We did spend some time in the pool, but the quiet beach was exactly what we all needed. Definitely staying there again!

I think it also depends on how long your trip is. If it is a 3/4 day thing and you will spend all the time at the parks, go cheaper and stay at Pop. If you are going to be there longer, personally I would recommend Port Orleans. We loved both of those resorts and they also have a boat to go to DTD, which is nice at the end of a busy day at the parks.

Like other people have said, POP has 1 bus stop and once you're on it's off to the parks, where as some of the Mod resorts have multiple bus stops (PO-FQ has only 1)

Those are the three we have stayed at! And we enjoyed every one of them. We did CBR when there was a discount, so that it wasn't much more than we were used to paying for Value. I liked having a fridge there- we bought milk and ate cereal in our room. I liked hanging out on the beach. DH didn't like the walk from Jamaica to the food court, but I thought it was okay. We did have multiple bus stops, but it didn't take very long. I also liked that there were benches and not a line-up for the buses at the resort. There was usually not a lot of people

All Star Movies shared busses, but again it was not a big deal. Pop was great too.

So I guess I liked CBR the best, personally, but the cost is a deterrent.

Thanks everyone for all the responses!! DH and I discussed it and we agree with those of you who said to opt for the cheaper rooms. Just not worth the extra money since i don't intend on spending all my time in the hotel room! I like the idea of the buses from POP..my oldest dd is mildly autistic and doesn't like "disturbances" lol although she is getting better about it and we're working on different things like this. Thanks again!!!

I wasn't sure if you've been to WDW before, and if so, then you probably know this, but all of the resorts you're considering have 2 full size beds. I know many families of 4 stay there, but it would never work for our family with my DH who's 6' tall and our 2 DS's who can't sleep together. The least we can manage with is 2 Queens and we take a twin air-bed for one DS. So, for us to stay at Disney, it has to be the mod Coronado Springs or a Deluxe. That's why we end up offsite at a condo or townhome most trips! :goodvibes

We will try CB next April. We have stayed at Pop before and we are just trying the CB just to see if we like it better. We will be coming off a Disney cruise...good luck with your choice...

Hi Mareed! No, this will be our first trip to WDW. Its a surprise for my oldest dd's bday. I was aware of the bedding, and I know it will be a squeeze, but with finances it is all we can afford, or "justify" for right now, as we also have a cruise coming up the following may. Thanks for the help!!

Enjoy your cruise. We will have our 3rd cruise may 2011...seems like forever right now!!!!
