Right now the family and I (a total of 6 adults) are staying at AOA Lion King suite. We have a 6 day 5 night park hopper with water park tickets as well as the summer promotion, at the time, of a quick service meal for $5065. If it's true and "free" dining comes out on Monday and if it falls on our time frame as the rumor say, do they think it's worth it for us to change? Another equation in this is that I have already made 2 characters meals to pay out of pocket and already paid for HDDR. Back when I ran thru those numbers it was cheaper to pay out of pocket than to go with the table service dining plan. Now I am wondering if it will now be worth it to upgrade to the dining plan. I thought it best to get with experts. Please help me with the numbers. Thanks.

You'll probably have to wait and see what the numbers are for free dining. It shouldn't be more than what you're paying now unless there was a room discount in with the summer promotion. I don't think there was, but you never know. As to paying to upgrade from the QSDP to the regular DDP, the cost will be $21 each night for the adults, so $126 per night for all of you. If your three TS meals total is more than or close to that $600, then it may be better to upgrade and make some more ADRs.

I agree with the poster above. If you didn't have a room discount before, then it's likely you will save money by upgrading to the Regular DP. Some times, room discounts tend to be a better deal than the FD.
