What would you choose and why?

What should I choose assuming... Weather and low crowds are my biggest priority?

Having seen the parks at Halloween and Christmas, I prefer the Halloween look better. More importantly, you've got a better chance at good - that is, pool / water park - weather. Plus, the crowds this past December were much greater than I expected. However, either choice is good.

Sorry about the dupe post - got an odd "Server too busy error", then ended up with two....

Picked the later time (that's when I'm hoping to go next year). Hopefully, the annual meetings will be then. But also, went once in late October, and thought the weather was still hotter than I'd like. However, better for swimming then. Also, the week after Thanksgiving the parks will be decked out for Chritmas.

We went the first week of December just after the Thanksgiving rush ended in 2002, and loved it. Weather was between 70-80 degrees. We picked the warmest day to try out Typhoon Lagoon and had a great time. It was cool at night, but we were comfortable in jeans and a jacket/sweatshirt, though folks from Florida wore coats. We had the pool/hot tub nearly to ourselves in the evenings! We never had crowded busses, and never waited more than 15 minutes in line. Never needed a fastpass. We enjoyed MVMCP. I do think they don't need to run the Christmas carols 24/7 though.

We're planning on doing the same thing next year, but including Thanksgiving too, knowing the parks will be packed. We're in the process of booking it now!

Both are great, and two trips -- one for each would be my first choice. But you asked for an "either or" choice so I went with the holiday season. What tips the later choice are the holiday decorations, festive mood and CP.

The holiday season is wonderful, you have to try it once. Weather wise, late October would probably be better (late November can be iffy) but crowd wise late November would be better.

I voted for October. I like the warmer weather, and the Halloween Party.
Also, isn't the later time the dreaded Pop Warner time frame many complained about?

We were there for the Nov-Dec timeframe this year and the Oct time was when we had our first trip! I love them both. Oct is wonderful because of the weather. It does get a little more crowded later that week due to the Halloween party.
But I love the holiday decorations after Thanksgiving also. The weather is a little colder and the crowds are pretty huge until the Sunday after Thanksgiving but I voted for this timeframe. Based solely on the decorations and activities for the holidays.

No, Pop Warner should be the following week after the one he mentioned in Dec....That being said I still wouldnt avoid Pop Warner its not all that bad...My concern for the week planned in Dec is the leftover thanksgiving crowds and the parade taping....I have never been during Halloween but have been in Oct and it was very nice but nothing beats the decorations and the holiday mood around christmas time

We have now gone for both the MNSSHP and MVMCP and we preferred the MSSNHP. The crowds were slightly larger in October than in December. It is all a matter or priorities.

I voted for October. I've been to WDW in both October and early December. October was by far less crowded. Also, the weather can be iffy in December. I've heard of people being able to swim and I've also heard of people needing mittens. October is still warm, but not too hot.

For your priority, the Nov/Dec week fits best. However, you may not notice much of a difference in crowd levels.

My choice woould come down to MNSSHP or MVMCP. Either week should be a great time to go to WDW!

I voted October primarily b/c the crowds are lighter (which was one of your main priorities). In addition, the food & wine festival will still be at Epcot (I think) and although I haven't been to either MNSSHP or MVMCP, I have read more positive reviews on MNSSHP.
