What would you buy for a week tenting at the fort

That pack of flashlights wouldn't happen to be the Remington or Winchester brand that comes in different colors?

Yes its a pack of Different colors, But branded Bass Pro Sop, Not sure who made

if you've never tent camped before I would highly recommend setting everything up in your backyard and spending one night in your tent before you head to the fort.

I would also recommend adding to your list an outdoor extension cord and a big box fan to help with temp control in tent and as a bonus the fan will help block out noise from barking dogs, etc.

Ruthies12 I have no way of setting anything up before hand (live in Miami beach and am not dragging it all to a park)

I have extension cord and am looking at a way to set up a AC, but will settle for a fan as backup

Do you have a small gas grill? Or did you intend to always cook over the charcoal grill at the site? I'm big on the convenience and speed of gas when we're camping and in sightseeing mode.

And I second the good air mattress and chairs.

However, do you have any friends with an Aero Bed that you could borrow? They're the kind of thing that is awesome to have (a good, high-quality brand) but you don't use often, so it is nice to lend. We have a king size and I have a friend with a queen size. If we ever go tenting or have a big sleepover party for DS in the basement, I borrow her queen size. Thanksgiving comes around and her family is in town and she borrows our king size. Works great.

Folding chairs are handy for camping and lots of other things as well.

Going to mostly Charcoal it... Parents will be down with a Camper van that has a stovetop and Microwave if needed.

And I know no one with a Aerobed so the Colemans I got on sale will have to do

We use a 6-plug outlet with our extension cord. That way The Princess can charge her phone and use her lap top while I use the reading lamp and the fan.

Does your new cooler have a drain plug? It's hard to find them in the smaller coolers these days, so I got a gizmo from Harbor Freight that has two rubber hoses, one goes in the cooler and one goes in a 5-gallon Home Depot bucket that we use for dumping our dishwater. Then I pump the pump the two hoses plug into and the melted ice from the cooler goes into the bucket.

I love our shower tent and camping potty....saves having to walk to the comfort station in the dark or rain (or both). Also it can be used as a changing room when The Princess brings along friends of the opposite gender.

Sorry, it is Bass Pro brand,

Gonna just tell you this up front, my mother bought me same pack two Christmas in a row. If you are lucky 2/3 of them will work, others give out after short period of time. They come with a thin plastic disc that separates the push switch from battery pack, but even after removing they don't function long.

Don't tell my mom I said so, but my wife and I laughed when I got them two years in a row.

Yea I figured I am getting what I paid for regarding the lights... But with three kids under five with us I figure they would lose or break em anyway.. Hence why I do not want to bring any of my good ones

That is exactly the same reason why I chose the 3 for $20 pack of LED lanterns.

The handles were broken before we even left the house. It was still a win.
