WHAT WOULD WALT DO? (or What is Eisner & Co doing wrong?)

OK, here's a question for y'all: If it were up to you, who would replace Eisner? I, as everyone else, would "love" to see someone in Walt Disney's family take the reigns. But Who? The only one I can think of with great business saavy is Roy Disney. He has a deep passion for his uncle's company and still looks very good for his age.
I'm not sure he'd want a CEO position, though.
Tony Baxter? Marty Sklar? Even Cynthia Harriss?
What do y'all think?

I personally don't think Eisner is the problem, it's the #2 position. Frank Wells has never truly been replaced (Ovitz and Iger have never come close to it), and Eisner is doing a lousy job at trying to do it himself. If they could find someone to fill Wells' niche, Eisner could return to what he excells at, and that is the creative side of the business. And if you look at the late 80s and early 90s, he certainly had a great track record during that time!
The big question is whether or not Eisner is willing to to share his power with someone else...

Kinda reminds me of the old "Who's on first..." routine.

Here's my gut feeling about the whole situation:

Walt Disney had a passion that he shared with a lot of people. It happened that he made a lot of money doing so, a lot of which he used to expand his passion. I guess at some point, the continuance of this passion outran good business decisions and "What" was called in to play second and fix that. Unfortunately, "What" called in "I don't care" to play third and the passion was, for the most part, replaced by greed.

There are now so many of us who want to embrace that old passion that we're each willing to shell out thousands of dollars each year for a week or two in WDW and "What" and "I don't care" don't seem to give a rat's behind about "Who" and all his loyal followers who are paying for all their whims.

I'm so confused... I'd better get back to work...

Maybe they should hire Steven Spielberg as the #2 man.

That guy sure does know magic and story.

E.T. belongs at Disney, not that poor, toothless cousin Universal Studios

(Although Eisner's male ego would probably be too threatened by having Spielberg around)

:-)

Or maybe they should hire all of us! :-)
