I am meeting up with some friends today to talk Disney. We are 3 adults (one couple, maybe two by then) my real worry is lodging. We have few choices

- A family suite at a value resort
- all shear a normal suite at a mod ( do not like this idea much)
- two suites at a mod (more costly)
- Rent DVC points and try to get a 1 bedroom( and miss out on free dinning?)

What would the DISer recommend

What are the suites at a mod you are referring to?

Why not just get two separate rooms - it doesn't sound like you are that keen on all staying in the same room from the way you posted?

Why not two rooms at a value resort? This would be less costly than a moderate resort and still give you plenty of room and privacy.

Two separate rooms will ALWAYS get my vote.

It would not be my idea of a fun vacation to share a room with other adults, other than my DH. Everyone needs their privacy IMO.

Yep - my vote goes to two separate rooms at a value (or a moderate, if thats more your speed)

I vote for "none of the above." Rent an offsite property. You can get a 3-bedroom, 3-bath house with a pool for about the cost of one room at a value resort. That way, everyone has their own space but you also can hang out together in the common areas - living room, kitchen, pool area.

The only mod that has suites is CSR and they are more expensive than having 2 rooms. I wouldn't recommend having 4 adults in any suite (value or mod)- there just isnt enough space or privacy IMO. And 2 adults in a suite is just overkill. I think you will be best served by 2 regular rooms at either a value or mod, depending on your budget and preference.

I would either stay offsite or get two rooms. We've traveled with dear friends and really enjoy doing so, but if anyone gets to feeling poorly (which is not exactly unknown among Disney vacationers ;) ), they're really going to want a little space of their own, even if it's just that they need a bit of time to recover from that too-rich Disney food and too much sun.

Also, Disney hotel rooms are really small, IMHO, at least compared to the places we stay. I suppose it depends on the three adults, but I know my two teen boys and I would be tripping over each other, and not all of that is teen or old-lady awkwardness. :p

I vote for 2 rooms at a Value

none of the above - here is why
a family suite has ONE queen bed in the bedroom, in the living space is a love seat, ottman and chair which all make into beds.

you are being unfair to one couple - does not work

normal suites are again too much for what you get - generally 2 queen beds in the bedroom, a sleeper sofa in the liiving area -
again if you want separate sleeping area - you are being unfair.

a DVC 1-bedroom has the same problems - one king bed in the master, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room and with some a chair bed.

would also go with 2 rooms at a value - ask for adjoining rooms. they would be next to each other. Pop is my favorite in the value, costs a little more than the all stars but worth it for me.

The one bedroom would have worked since my friend and her boyfriend do not share a bed till they are married. For now we waiting for her boyfriend make his mind if he wants to come. If it just the two of us we may look into renting at DVC or someting with values (probly) I know Jan 2014 is far off. But i would like an idea of how much money to save up.
