What would make Disney World perfect???

I too like the "best guest" idea. The Disney Visa just doesn't give you enough!

I agree with the monorail.

Whilst sitting and waiting for Illuminations I have already "mused" these thoughts. For starters, I would think you could easily connect the EPCOT/MGM area. One express monorail from MGM to Epcot (probably just an extension of the one that's there adding MGM, then MK/Epcot/MGM would all be connected and another resort/parks monorail just for the Epcot/MGM area that would stop at Future World...YachtClub/Beach Club....Swan/Dolphin...MGM...Boardwalk....World Showcase

After this, next project would be connecting the DTD/Bonnet Creek area. (this might cause park parking problems again though) anyway, probably get Typhoon Lagoon in there.

Then finally BB, All Stars, Pop Century and AK AND back again to TTC.

Well those were my waiting for Illumination musings one day!!!

moving walkways UP any and all steep ramps (such as the monorail station)
I will use the monorail between MK and the 3 hotels, but nowhere else because of those steep ramps! (the angle hurts my hips)

Ditto the Frequent guest card (like frequent fliers miles) - I'd be more inclined to stay on sight and spend more in the parks if I was earning points.
(I guess they have a Visa card deal, but some people, like us, choose to not do credit! {and some people can't qualify for a credit card})

Ditto on the AFFORDABLE 2 bedroom units on site. They don't have to be as fancy or as large as the DVC properties, but kitchenette (small stove/microwave/fridge/sink) and stackable washer and drier + 2 bedrooms and a small living area... Something that prices comparable to a 2/3 bedroom condo/pool home off site. I'd give up a spacious house to stay on site if they just offered less expensive 2 bedroom units!!!

Ocean Kingdom ;) *Sea World type concept theme park

Ditto on ETA for busses - although I really hate the busses and would rather rent a car - even when we stay on site! It's SO much faster to get to and from the parks.

These are all great ideas! I totally agree with the Dr. Pepper thing.

I'm surprised a new theme park isn't in plans yet. Didn't Epcot open in.. 80, was it? MGM in 89.. AK in 1998...the way they have been moving, i'd expect a new theme park although i'm not complaining i think it's fine the way it is. :thumbsup2

I see a lot of comments about the Monorail...

I've never been a huge lover of the monorail system, although, it's not too bad. Here's what I'd like to see with the monorail.

BEEF IT UP! I'd like to see it become a full-fledged mass transit system. (like a subway, only slower) Disney could get really creative with the "show" that they could give while you are on the longer monorail rides. I'd like to see it go underground and underwater.

The monorail could almost become a "ride" itself. Think 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea or Pirates of the Caribbean!

Dr. Pepper would be nice- only b/c that means it would be Pepsi Products. Not that I don't like Coke product, I would just prefer Pepsi. Oh well- it gets me to drink water more.

As are as a new park- my last visit in Sep a bus driver of ours was talking to a family about some the of the additions. He was talking about all the undeveloped land Disney has, and menionted they were in the talks of adding a new theme park which would be all thrill rides. I'm not for sure of the truth in his statements, but he did seem very knowledgeable.

Mugs that can be refilled anywhere... and
Free unlimited pool hopping privileges. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

But seriously folks... I second the idea of the monorail expansion. I'm not sure how much faster the monorail is than busses, but a monorail seems much more "Disney".

I'd also like a couple more table service places in the Magic Kingdom.

And a return of the SeaCabs at the Living Seas at EPCOT (which is rumored to be happpening!)

I'm with you, sleepyone!
We would like it if Walt Disney World was close enough to drive to comfortably.

What do you mean? It only takes me 30 minutes to get to the Happiest Place on Earth??? :thumbsup2 I think that's close enough.

Just Kidding everyone! I'm very blessed to be able to live where I do and I wish everyone could get to this happy place as easily as I can. I lived in Indiana for 35 years and I remember what it is like to want to visit WDW, but the distance was just too great to be able to go on a whim!

Keep the dream alive and you're time will come soon.

Put PEPSI products there.

And make everything "retail" price not Disney price.

If everything was free!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha (this is my evil laugh) ha ha ha ha ha...

DEAR DISNEY,

ARE YOU STILL USING CUT & PAINTED WOOD BOARDS TO MAKE PETER PAN AND WENDY on the PETER PAN RIDE?

I STOPPED RIDING PETER PAN IN 1977 BECAUSE I COULD SEE THE PLYWOOD CUT-OUTS OF PETER PAN WERE JUST PAINTED BOARDS.

I LIKE PETER PAN & TINKER BELL but AM NOT GOING BACK UNTIL YOU SPEND A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS AND BUY SOME ANIMATRONICS FOR THAT POOR RIDE :confused3

I'll send you the first $20 bucks myself. Its sad to see Disney has become my poor pennyless friend

(COME ON NOW! UNIVERSAL SET UP THE SAME RIDE (called it E.T.) but they didn't use wood cut-outs. MAYBE YOU COULD BORROW SOME OLD E.T. PARTS AND FIX YOUR PETER PAN RIDE.)

if i'm wrong someone please let me know. last time I looked, peter pan and mr. toad ....both cost less than $200 for the supplies to make the wooden cut-out charactors and displays. :rolleyes1

P.S.S. More Monorails!! You cheap accountants :teacher: stop looking at your balance sheets and think with your heart instead of your head. Be like Walt :smickey:

It would be absolutely perfect if I could stay at a deluxe resort, stay as long as I wanted, take time to see & do everything there was to do and eat at all the TS places I wanted, have a few spa treatments, and then when I went to check out learn that my bill had magically been taken care of!

Seriously, I am still under the spell of my first magical trip and think it was already perfect. I had very high expectations and was not disappointed at any turn. :wizard:

:ssst: quiet you fool! Or Peter will soon be burried next to mr. Toad behind the haunted masion.

That make me think, Disney would be more perfect if they never got rid of our favorite attractions, in all of fantasy land Mr. Toad was mine. It's been mentioned that WDW needs a park just for all the extinct attraction, it will never happen but that would be nice, call it Magic Memory Kingdom.

I'm right with-you my friend. I miss '20,000 Leaugues Under the Sea' so much that it brings a tear to my eye.

But come on! I've been going to MK for over 30 years now. Spend a few bucks on Peter Pan....its about time :badpc:

aawww

20,000 LEAGUES yeah

Toad...yeah

Pepsi...yeah

free...absolutely!! :teeth: at least reaaaally cheap!!! ;)

like everyone's ideas...

I'd love to see electronic displays at the bus stops telling you when to expect the next bus to wherever you're going and how long the trip will take. There are cities that do this now so it's not like there's any magic involved with doing this.

I love this idea. I just got back from Vail, CO and they had this feature and really liked it.

I'd love it if they never got rid of our favorite old attractions! Fantasyland just isn't the same without Mr. Toad and 20,000 Leagues. . .
I agree with all the transportation issues also. More monorails! And, in the easy to fix category, a better bus system. It would require someone paying attention to factors like how many guests are staying at each resort but then you wouldn't have a situation I experienced last summer. We got rained out at TL. We waited on a Riverside bus for about an hour while watching four empty Old Key West busses go by. At least give the drivers enough freedom to realize a bad situation. Clearly they could've made a few people happy by redesignating a couple of busses.

This is a great Thread! With today's technology, here's some things that I'd like to see:

Rentable Hand-Held device that provides:

GPS tracking tags for family members to wear. That way you could clip the tags to all the members of your family/party and be able to tell where everyone is at all times. (maybe even be able to text message party members)

Crowd Density Monitors. This would allow you to see where in the park the most people are concentrated.

Instant Updates on Ride wait times.

Ability to view menu's and place food orders ahead of time (remotely) at resturaunts to optimize down time during meals. The food would be ready when you sit down.

Internet connectability where you could check email and send IM's to other party members.
LOVE the ideas, Yensid! Definitely "expanding the box" concepts.

With that being said, I think my first improvement would be the expansion of the monorail system to at least include all the parks and deluxe resorts requiring only a single change of train between the deluxes and any of the parks; then spurs to the moderates and values as well.

Secondly, a few more moderate-deluxe and value-moderate resorts to choose from (but please, Disney, stay away from the Caribbean-Southwest-Pueblo-Seaboard themes...think Castles, Colonial, ancient civilizations, etc.).

If you are staying in a resort, I'd also love the ability to view the parking lot security cameras through the TV so you could keep an eye on your car, but then it would be also nice to have web cameras in all the parks so you could watch them at any time either at home or wherever!

In the at-least-we-can-dream category, expand the Wedway People Mover throughout the MK and have at least one station in each section.
