What would happen if someone not on the authorized driver list drives the car and has an accident?

I am sure it wouldn't be pretty. You have violated the terms of agreement. I wouldn't chance it. Why not pay for the additional driver?

If an unauthorized driver had an accident, almost certainly any insurance options you chose would not cover you and also almost certainly any coverage provided by your credit card would not cover you.

It would be just like if an uninsured driver crashed a car. You would be 100% liable for any and all damages to the vehicle and anything else regardless of any insurance coverage you paid for, or had personally.
