I've been reading all these posts about people reserving lounge chairs early in the morning, but not showing up for hours. Are the rules posted somewhere so that people know what they're doing is wrong? Rather than play that "game" what would happen if I go ahead and use one that isn't obviously in use by someone in the area? (If you knew me, you'd know I will have NO problem doing this.) If the person shows up, I'd just kindly point out that there is no reserving of chairs and that they are free to take one of the other chairs that isn't in use.

That's what we will do next time. There will probably be a CM close by if you need them. What we encountered was 1 person sitting by the pool reserving 5 chairs with shoes on them. One shoe per chair. Everyone who does DCL is not a nice person.

I think that there is a note in the navigators that reserving of chairs is not allowed. I'm with you, dijid. I would bring a copy of the nav. with me and remove the items left by the "invisible people." If they dared to day something to me, I would simply whip out the nav. and point to the notation.

Hi Folks
So what happens when I decide it is time to go get something to nibble on and of course take my shoes? Does this mean I am without a seat upon my return?????? I guess I will watch out for those going to eat or maybe even go into the pool? Wonder which one takes preference??? The bathroom maybe, try the navigator on that one.:p

If you're in the pool or nearby and have a chair reserved that's one thing, but if you get up early and throw out a towel to come back three hours later that's something entirely different. :)

I think you're okay if you get up to use the facilities or get a bite to eat to bring back to the pool. ;)

Hi Folks

Michelle, is the operative word "think". This is kinda funny, since on a recent cruise, J&J were in the hot tub with our towels over the railing surrounding the tub. Our chairs were within arms reach and had our jackets, Joannes little beach bag (books, brush, and gum), and her coverall what ever that is(?) on them. Two folks came right over and said to each other well at least we waited, then moved our stuff to the Deck and sat upon our chairs....EXCUSE ME was in order and they had no response except to get up and leave. They ended up on the adults only section by the big whale tail...:p

Oh that IS a pain, J & J! I've been lucky enough to never encounter a pool chair problem (other than when watching my daughter at the Mickey pool, and I end up just sitting at the edge of the pool).

At least they moved! :)

If your spouse is sitting there and tells me you've just gone to get a bite to eat, I wouldn't take your spot. I was really talking about just seeing one shoe down or a towel - where it's pretty obvious someone is just holding the chair without being nearby. I don't plan on starting any fights, just merely going to be a little bit assertive about what's right.

Hi
This post was just a funny reminder that it takes all kinds of people. Just watching those folks come out of the door from inside and go right to our chairs is beyond comprehension, but looking back on it it was kinda funny, The nerve....:-)

It is also silk screened on the lounge chairs that you can not reserve chairs. (It was on the top of some chairs, behind where your head would be) Did anyone else notice this?

I always wait about 20mins watch a chair and if no ones comes back I move the towel and sit down . I have never in 5 cruises had anyone come back to claim their chair . I would gladly move if they did . I think this will always be a problem and it happens on all cruise lines I think. Hopefully happy cruising to everyone.
