What would be your ultimate Disney vacation?

I knew there were some things I had never heard of! What is the Steam Train Tour?

Jasminetigger, Well, I don't know much about it but my DH and I told a CM who was working the queue for the train in Frontierland that we loved the WDW Railroad. We always take 2-3 circle tours when we visit. He said there was a backstage tour all about the trains. I assume they will give you some history and maybe take you backstage to show you some things. Not sure....but I'm going to find out someday.

It is in the Dolphin Resort...very lovely, upscale "swanky" place!

Yes, I put a smile on my face whenever I think of our weeklong trip to WDW> I must admit, I was a bit leery of a 7 night trip...I honestly thought I would get antsy towards the end...but that was not the case. I shed a tear as we drove away, just as I always do.

I am like MrsTink...I much prefer lounging about at the resort, either next to the pool or at a nice restaurant, than going to the parks. That is why, to me, a dream vacation means popping into the parks on a whim (so being geographically close to them is important) and being able to leave when I want, too.

And yes, the little things are important. Forsome reason, that $18, 30 minute surrey bike ride really sticks in my mind. Also, watching my DH "in his glory" at ESPN Club (I do not care for sports) was so fun!

10 days in a 1 bedroom villa at OKW on the golf course with free dining and priority seating anywhere I wanted to go. Oh yeah, and the BEST seats for Fantasmic and all the parades!

I'd have a charge card that I never had to pay back and I wouldn't put on any weight while I was there, in fact, I'd lose 5 pounds every day no matter how much I ate!

My daughter would be Princess for a Day and my husband could play all the golf courses with the pro there to help him.

We think a lot alike. Our vacation ideas are very similar. The resort is very important to me because that is where I can relax the most. And of course Wilderness Lodge is our favorite resort! Just started planning our June 2006 trip last night. That's why I wanted to start this thread. I want some good ideas of things we might not usually do. I will definitely be reading your review of the Bluezoo.

For me and my family - 10 days at the Polynesian Lagoon View, and Concierge of course. We would also want to have the extended family along for part of the trip - not necessarily at the same resort..... but close enough to meet up in the parks with

My Ultimate WDW Vacation is actually belongs to someone else(my 75 yr old mother). Her dream to visit WDW with all or any of her grandchildren.

But I wouldn't mind the first/second week of Dec. at the WL to see the Holiday events.

This is what I do everyday- plan the ultimate WDW vacation. I would love to do the premium plan for 7 days where I could eat wherever I wanted including all character meals and I would even let DH play a little golf while I took the kids to the GF pirate adventure and tea party. I would be at the spa of course! We would use the kids clubs more and do fun stuff just the two of us- like the new Segway class in Epcot or F&W. I would go see all the dinner shows (they're included on the premium plan so it's no extra money). :0) We would split stays between the WL (esp. if it's Christmas time), AKL Concierge (I like that Sunrise Safari idea!) and maybe the Poly or the Beach Club. Can't decide on resorts... but no more than 2 changes in a 7 day trip for us.
Then after that glorious week, it's off to the DCL for a 7 day cruise. Don't care whether we head east or west just don't bring me back for a week. We would swim with the dolphins, have cabana massages, eat at Palo twice , etc. My children would be grateful and would be heard muttering "Wow I can't believe how much work mom put into planning all this. Isn't she great?" :0) Oh to dream...

Hope everyones dream vacation comes true. Mine has been to do a b2b Cruise on the Magic and that will happen in Feb 2007 to celebrate our 36th Wedding Anniversary. The biggest thrill will be not having to pack and get off the boat

I would stay 10 nights at the Yacht concierge but in the "big suite" I dont remeber the name of it I think the Admiral suite. I would go parasailing on the Seven seas lagoon, do the Mk behind the scenes tour.

My DH and I have discussed this! We're planning on it SOMEday - probably when the kids are grown and we're retired.

We're starting in France at Disneyland Paris in the Disneyland Hotel Tinker Bell suite. We'll stay there for 4 full days, then jet to Tokyo. We'll stay in Tokyo for 6 full days and stay on-site, of course. We'll spend a lot of time at DisneySea. It looks amazing. Then we'll head to Hong Kong and take that in within 5 days or so. (Since this is the newest Disney park, we don't know what is there just yet). Then we'll take our overseas flight to California. We'll stay for 6 days at the Grand Californian in Disneyland. We'll do the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour (I think that is what it's called) and take in a lot of fine dining. Then we'll make our way (via air) to Orlando. We'll check into the Wilderness Lodge and spend five nights/six days commando style in the parks. Throw in an Illuminations cruise and a Fantasmic dinner package. Then we'll sail away for a week on the DCL in a cabin with a verandah. To further our relaxation mode even more, once the cruise is over, we'll head BACK to WDW. This time to a Polynesian concierge lagoon view room. We'll lounge here for another week and dine at all the best restaurants. Bistro de Paris, Marrakesh, Cali Grill, Citricos and of course, Victoria and Albert's.

This is an IDEAL vacation that I hope someday we're able to afford - either as a whole - or in parts. DH wants to see all the Disney parks around the world. I can dream, right?

Great thread. I'm starting to plan our trip for next December so this has got me thinking. Since this will be the last year before my oldest starts kindergarten, I would like to splurge.

10 nights

Hopper passes
Split stay between AKL (2 nights) and Poly or a BW resort (or split them up to experience both)
Sunrise safari
Pirate cruise for the kids
Family Magic Tour
Good viewing spot for Wishes, or maybe a cruise
Celebrate our wedding anniversary with a night at Epcot's World Showcase alone with DH - dinner and dessert and a nice long stroll
Time to swim and relax without feeling like we have to go to the parks

My ultimate Disney vacation was my honeymoon. We had an AWESOME time. The only thing I would change is maybe going at a different time of year, but with the same itinerary. Probably would rather go in early December or in October for the FW Fest and MNSSHP. This was our itinerary in June/July 2004:

June 27-July 1: Disney Wonder for 4 night cruise
July 1-July 4: Universal Studios staying at the Royal Pacific Resort
July 4-July 5: Pop Century
July 5- July 10: Polynesian

The only thing I would really change is not staying at the Pop for one night. We only did that to save money and check into the Poly during Value season. If money weren't an issue we would probably want to do a few more behind the scenes tours and eat a few nicer restaurants, but all in all we had a great time. 2 weeks is a great amount of time for a vacation and I wish we had the time and money to do that every year.

Sounds like you had a wonderful honeymoon. Part of my ultimate vacation would also be the time of year we go. Because I have two girls in school and the way my job is, we always have to go in the summer. I would love to go in the fall or winter. We are going to try to go for a few days this December. I have always wanted to see WDW at Christmas tme, especially the Wilderness Lodge.
