What would be the best use years for us?

If my wife and I like to travel either early december or sept/october, given use years really only come into play for cancelling ressies, what would be good/bad use years for us (sorry just can't wrap my head around this yet)

August or September would work well for you - since you would usually have plenty of time to reuse (or bank) any points returned from a cancellation. I would advise against a February or March Use Year for travels in Sept/Oct/Dec.

IMO, Use Year is an overrated concern unless you are prone to frequent cancellation. I would concentrate more on finding a contract that meets your needs (resort, number of points) than worrying about a specific Use Year.

WebmasterDoc is a wise man. The use year is only the time of year ther your point bucket gets refilled. But remember that you can Bank & borrow so the actual uy is generally not significant. The home resort may be more important because you can make a ressie 11 months in advance. To make a ressie at another resort yopu have to wait until only 7 months in advance. Also the annual membership fee is slightly different for each resort.
