What would be the best thing you have experienced at WDW?

Walking out of Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge after our character breakfast (a few years back), and looking up to see my son walking hand and hand with Winnie the Pooh over the bridge in the hotel lobby.

Entering Magic Kingdom, on the day my daughter wore her Snow White costume, and having the gentleman doing the security search tell her with a smile, "I'll make sure that no apples come into the park today."

Great thread! Here are just a few of my favorites . . .

1) When I was shopping at The Emporium, I was trying to find gifts for several of my family members. They had already started ringing up my purchases when one of the CM's asked, "Is there anyone else you need to buy for"? I said, "Yes, but I am not going to hold up your register so I can continue to shop. I can come back tomorrow". She said, "No, we have other CM's who can assist the other guests, let's finish your shopping"!

I was quite embarrassed with the attention. Even the guy who had started checking me out at the register got in on the fun! They were awesome! They actually found some really nice gifts, never acted hurried, and made me feel like I was the only customer in the store!

2) It was my second day at WDW and I was already red from the day before. I had lathered on a ton of sunscreen and hit Fantasyland for the second day. A lady saw me resting on a bench, came up and said, "Ma'am, you look so sunburned. I have some sunscreen if you would like some". I thought that was so nice and unselfish! I thanked her and told her that I was already coated in sunscreen and I even had a bottle with me in my bag. What a nice lady. ::yes::

I think the best memory was going to Rose and Crown with my fam. and ordering the cheese and fruit appetizer. We began eating it when my stepmother said, "This cheese seems kind of musty." I couldn't help reply, "Hence the mold." We cracked up and ended the evening at Rose and Crown watching Illuminations. Wonderful trip all together though.
Also completely enjoyed taking off my shoes and socks, rolling up my pants, donning ponchos and having a marvelous time in the puddles at Epcot when it was pouring.
Same rain day we watched two little girls in Italy, wearing ponchos, running and splashing in the rain too.

Our best experience was on the disney 7 day cruise, my dh is 37, ds 10, 11, 14 & dd 10. As you know kids dont want to be with their parents at this age. Yet, we went on the cruise 2002 and the kids cant wait to take vacation with us again. The feeling of knowing they are going to become Disney nuts like us is the ULTIMATE memory. Best vacation ever!!!:Pinkbounc

When we Experienced for the first time WDW during the holiday months and enjoying all the decorations, seeing Osborn lights when it was in the back lot, MVMCP and getting our picture taken with Mickey & Minnie and Donald & Daisy. Also spending some relaxing moments at AKL and eating the food at BOMA.::yes:: :hyper:

My most Magical Disney Experience happened about 8 years ago.

After over a year of recovery from a auto accident my DH could finally travel.

So off we went for a Disney Vacation with Grandson (7 and his 1st trip to Disney. We had been many times with our children but this was our first with a grandchild)

From the moment we checked into Dixie Landings till the day we left it was a total magical vacation.

Hard to pick out the highlight, it was the perfect trip. Breckfast with Pooh then getting his haircut on Main Street. Riding Pirates of the Caribbean 5 times in a roll, after the fireworks and being the only ones in the boat. Singing buccaneer songs!

Standing in line for hour after hour so he could ride the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway over and over (what is it about this diesel smelling ride that draws such huge crowds?)

Dinner at Rose and Crown and watching Illuminations on the patio. (before you found this wonderful site, and learned all the secrets. Who knew there were ring-side seats to Illuminations)

Maybe it was the magic of discovering our own secrets. Not knowing everything then being disappointed when you can't find the magic.

I've got two:

1)Honeymooning at WDW in 1990. DH had only been to Disney on family vacations over spring break. He loved being able to walk on to all the rides (it was late October) and we had such a wonderful time both at the parks and spending quiet time on the lake etc.

2) Our first visit home as DVC members in December of 2000. We had a boardwalk view and it was a fantastic feeling that we had 40+ years ahead of us of wonderful WDW memories!

That's hard, because there are two.

1) August 1979, I had just turned 14. Early afternoon and the family was tired - it was our last day. My father handed me the ticket books and said "go have fun." I ran (literally) from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom. I think that was the moment when I was bit by the Disney Bug and have been infected since.

2) November 1999, I decided (at the last minute) to take our then-20 month old girl on a daddy-daughter only trip to WDW for the weekend. That was unbelievably special and started what continues today. 22 days and counting until our next trip together. (Oh, and yes, mommy comes every once in a while too :) )

Our favorite things that we've done at WDW may be the times when we were able to participate in a show and or parade such as festival of the lion king, and the magical moments parades. My daughters favorite WDW moment was when she was chosen to be quail kid at the doug live show at disney studios:jester:

I don't know if this memory will ever be topped:

May 2004 we were lucky enough to be able to take our DD and our DGD to WDW. Our trip had been planned for DH and I for over a year and we were able to add the other 2 one week before we left. Disney was great in working this out....anyway....We had dinner at Cinderellas Royal Table for dinner planned our 1st night there, our DGD was 11 months old at the time and was just starting to walk around the furniture while holding on to things, and had never wanted you to let her hands go...we were sitting downstairs waiting for our names to be called and in comes Cinderella, DGD had been walking around holding her mommy's fingers the entire time, well when she saw Cinderella she let go and took off tottering all the way across the room, Cinderella kneeled down and held out her arms and took her into a great big hug, the entire place was clapping and cheering her on...probably because my DD yelled to me from across the room....mom "Chloe's walking" Sitting here typing this is actually making me tear up...anyway it was probably one of the best memories of my life. Talk about "MAGICAL"!!! We will never forget it. I think it made my DD year!

the best had to be the excitment and look on my daughters' faces when we first walked into Mk the first time( still brings tears to my eyes i am that sappy!). am looking forward to that first time grand baby is old enough to really " get it" also.

next best was when i discovered hubby and i could enjoy wdw just as much but differently "without" kids in tow ! always have gone with the kids cause thought it just wouldn't be the same... it isn't but just as fun:) ! ( husband says this last trip minus kids was best ever!)

Wow! I hope you got that on video! Or at least pictures! I so, please share! What a wonderful moment! I kind of want to tear up myself! And what a great story she can tell when she gets older! ::yes::

Too many to pick just one:

Most recent visit-

Attending the VMCP: everything was totally awswome. From the cocoa to the parade to the shows and the holiday decorations.

Dining at Victoria & Alberts for my parents 50th Anniversay. Food and CMs were the best. The whole Grand Floridian Experience;

Other trips;
Swimming in StormAlongBay for the first time.
E-Ride night and with no lines for Big Thunder/Splash Mtn riding over and over and over in the the dark. At the end of E ride night, watching the castle change colors and at the same time meeting Donald & Daisy in front of the castle with no one else around.

My earliest memory is of Disneyland Califorinia and watching the Main Street Electical Parade and getting really scared on Pirates of the Carribean.

When DS (age 5 at the time) started gesturing and couldn't get the words out. Just so excited..."over there... its the... over there...come on...come on" I couldn't see what he was talking about. It turned out to be the sword in the stone. I couldn't believe how thrilled he was to see it. He just had to try to pull it out.

I was lucky that the ceremony wasn't scheduled that day or I would have begged every CM in site to get him chosen him to pull it out.

It's funny that with all of the dazzling attractions, sometimes it's the little things that are really magical to a kid.

DH proposed to me on BTMRR...but being there years later with the kids...that's even sweeter. Fact that DH loves going and taking us there is the best. I can't quite describe it, just our own little way of being in tune with each other, bonding, loving life...of all the places we've gone, WDW is the one place that keeps us ...US!

During my DS and DD first trip to WDW, DS only wanted to see Donald Duck. It was our last day and still no sightings. While in ToonTown, he walked in while kids were getting their pictures taken. We all screamed we were so excited. Got a great picture and used it as our Christmas card that yr. We have made it a tradition that we always have their picture with Donald with DD on left side and DS on right and I now have 4 of the pictures from the various yrs on the frig. Great Memories and more to come:D

My best memory was probably from our trip in 1995. Having joined DVC (OKW) in '93 we were able to invite my dad to join us for 12 days to celebrate my DD's 5th birthday. On her actual birthday we had breakfast at the Kona Cafe which was a special event for us.

Now that my dad has passed on we have some great memories and photos of that trip. I'm really glad we were able to do that.

I have two good experiences:

1. In 1996 we were at the character dinner at GF. Mickey came to our table and I told him that Patrick, my 3 year old, wouldn't eat. Mickey proceeded to pick up and fork and some macaroni and cheese and offer it to DS. He opened his mouth wide for Mickey, with Mickey looking like a mother bird feeding a baby bird. Mickey then went on to feed him some more M&C and then some vegetables and other items (to give him a balanced meal). Definitely a Disney Magic Moment but unfortunately I didn't have my camera. Us and others in nearby tables were truly impressed.

2. In 1998, we went to the Poly in Novmember (Jersey Week). When we checked in they asked if there was a special occasion. I told them that DS would be 5 on the 7th not really thinking much about it. We returned from the parks in the afternoon of the 7th to find the table in our room competely set with plates, silver and a birthday cake and balloons (we didn't ask or pay for this). A tremedous surprise and big-time Disney Magic.
