What would be the best option to go to the outlets?

My mom is coming with us on our trip and she really wants to go off-site to the outlets (we live in driving distance to no less than 10 major outlet malls so why she feels the need to go while we are at Disney is really just beyond me but I digress...). We are doing Disney transportation the entire trip & will not have a rental car. I looked into renting for the day or even the weekend but we get royally screwed because we need a booster and a car seat ($50 extra for each from National). Not sure if we could even do a cab because of that issue and the fact that there are 5 of us (3 adults, 2 kids). Could we use a car service to take us in the morning and pick us up in the afternoon? Has anyone had a similar dilemma and how did you solve it?

My only other thought would be if dh didn't want to go shopping and kept our youngest while we went then my mom and I could take my 4 year old...if we did this would that make the cab our best option? And would it be cheaper to take it from Downtown Disney as opposed to our resort (WL) or one of the parks?

Are there any other options I haven't thought of? I should mention the plan is to do the Premium outlets....my mom doesn't know at this point that there are multiple outlet centers and I am really hoping to keep it that way

Thanks for any help--I appreciate it!

Renting a car is the best solution. Use your car seat on the plane and again on the rental car. If your child is a lap baby, not really safe, most airlines will let you use an empty seat if the flight isn't sold out. You might bring your car seat, in case you get lucky and if not just gate check it.

We can't use that option since the booster isn't allowed on the plane and neither is the convertible booster...the girls have their own seats already and the whole reason we deciding against renting while down there was so we didn't have to lug lots of baby stuff. Thanks though!

No thoughts on how to get there but just wanted to make you feel better about having to go to the outlets by reminding you there's a WDW outlet down there. :cool1: They carry overstocked and discontinued merchandise from the parks. Not sure exactly where it is located, but we ordered a Pal Mickey from there earlier this year for $27.99 (plus shipping). Same Mickey they sell in the parks for $60.00. So go and have fun. We just might try to locate it ourselves this trip. :teeth:
