Even though we're just back you know how it is. The moment you get back you can't wait to plan the next trip. The most important thing for us is low crowds because with both my DS & DH hate waiting in lines. So, what would you guys recommend, the week after Labor Day in Sept or early Oct. ? Considering weather & crowds which would you choose. We've been in Sept. 2x before & the crwds were non existent but we did get the occasional shower in the afternoon. But we've never been in Oct. This past trip in Dec. we went all out & stayed at the Poly & BWI but this upcoming vacation is going to be a little more economical. I think maybe French Quarter or if there are really good codes AKL. Never stayed at either of those resorts. Any votes for either. Thanks everyone !! :wave2:

Between Sept and Oct I would choose first of Oct, The weather is a little cooler yet still warm, the tropical storm season should be ending, and the crowds should even be a bit smaller as most all the schools will have started. Depending on when you actually go you may be able to attend MNSSHP, which would be a first for your group and loads of extra fun.

I have stayed at Port Orleans and AKL and enjoyed both Resorts, but of the two AKL has much more to offer it's such a beautiful Resort that you feel like your at a luxury resort on safari some where in Africa. WDW has in the past offered every good Florida Resident Rates during your time periods so either of the dates would be economical. Have a Great Trip...::yes::

Now I do not have any personal experience in Sept or early Oct but I've heard both times are low crowd levels. However I just wanted to mention that you might want to consider a trip in early October to attend MNSSHP. This year they had parties starting right in the first week in October. We went to the party Oct. 30th and had a great time. We are considering a trip for the last week in Sept. into early Oct. so we can go to the party again.

Also AKL definetly has my vote if you have not stayed there yet! Now we haven't been to French Quarter and it does look nice, but AKL was a fantastic experience.

Have fun making your decisions!

Been both times of year...I actually prefer September but it is just a bit too early to pull DD out of school now, one of the reasons I think the crowds are small..Crowds are MUCH lower in September...but the weather is nicer in October. September can be a mixed bag...most of the time it was quite hot and rainy. We went late October this year and you couldn't ask for nicer temps but crowds were much larger....I guess it depends on what is more important...crowds or temp.

Sept has the lower crowds. And starting next Oct 1, the food and wine festival at Epcot starts, so that may draw more crowds for early October.

We have stayed at the FQ and it is lovely, but on our last trip we checked out AKL and it looks AWESOME! We are actually going the last week of sept and the first 2 nights of october this coming year (so we get 2 days of the F&W festival).

We've been there both times - week after Labor Day and first week in October. Can't say that I noticed any difference in crowd levels. Both times were great. Our favorite time to go is January -we went two years ago and are going again in 14 days. If you think crowds are nonexistant in September or October - WDW is a ghost town in January. :cool1:

My DH absolutely hates crowds and so will only go in value season. Sept. and Oct. are great times to go, whichever one you choose!

Thanks Everyone ! Oct is sounding pretty good, with the better weather, the Food & Wine Festival & MNSVSP. So far I like the first week of OCt. Thinking of staying 7 nights since with a then 22 month old we need frequent breaks back to the hotel. Actually the 22 month old needs the breaks less & handles the parks better than his 36 year old father (lol) :earseek:

I would go with the week after Labor Day. We visit at this time and it is great. Sept is less crowded then Oct and it is cheaper in the sense that Sept is "value" season and Oct is "regular" season. The crowds drop off the day after Labor Day. Everything is a walk on and Fastpass is not even needed. The weather is great and we just love visiting in Sept.

Is the Frech Quarter reopened? AKL gets my vote.
